Q:I am interested in getting quotes for 4 to 6 months of travel insurance that is specifically focusing on Portugal beginning April 1, 2020.

A:
We would be glad to assist. If you are a U.S. citizen and staying less than, or not more than 90 days in Portugal, or are from a country not required to have a visa to travel for 90 days or less, any of the plans in this section will be appropriate: Traveling Outside USA If you are required to have the Schengen visa to travel to Portugal , you would want to choose from plans in this section, that specifically meet all requirements: Schengen Visa Insurance You can go through these quote links to find available plan options and pricing based on your specific travel dates, etc. If you do need a Schengen visa, we do advise selecting the $0 deductible as most consulates will require it. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Q:Hi, I am looking for a medical health insurance for my mom. My mom is 67 years old. She came to U.S. in 2017 and has lived together with me since then, and she received her green card this May with my sponsorship. She plans to stay in U.S. with me in the future. On your website, I saw two options for her medical insurance---Bridge Plan and Patriot America Plus. Both plans mentioned that they are suitable for age 65+ green card holder parents. So I am not sure which one I should buy for my mom. We live in California. Recently we asked the CA Health Care Exchange agent, and it turned out that my mom is not eligible for domestic insurance based on her age and income. So she couldn't get enrolled in either mediCal, Obamacare, or medicare. Could you tell me what the differences are between the two plans, and which plan she is eligible?

A:
The Bridge plan is not available in CA but International Major Medical is. The Patriot plans are available only if your mother still maintains a residence outside of the U.S.

Q:Dear Sir/Madam, I am looking to buy medical insurance for myself and my wife. I'm not sure whether the plans I'm looking at are suitable for me, perhaps you could advise. My wife and I will be getting our US green cards in January, and will be traveling to and from the US back to our home in UK during 2020, setting ourselves up in America. We are likely to spend most of our time in the US (as required by the Green Card -- we will become residents of the US) but we will keep our house in the UK, return to the UK during the year, and keep bank accounts open back in the UK. We estimate spending around 9-10 months in the US during 2020. This will likely be in California and/or New York. We plan on making the US our home from 2021 onward, and may well take out healthcare through the US marketplace from 1st January 2021 onward, so we're looking for cover for the 11 months from 1st Feb to end of the year. We would be happy to take out a year's coverage (if the is necessary) and either cancel the final month or end up having an overlap. We have no pre-existing conditions and we would be looking to have at least $1million each coverage. We are happy to take out a $2000-$5000 deductible. My date of birth is 06/OCT/1985, my wife's is 16/OCT/1981. We are both British Citizens

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. As long as you still have a residence outside the US then you can purchase the Patriot plans from the New Immigrant section of our website You would purchase the plans for the duration you are in the US and not for the full year. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am looking to insure my travel to Europe from 3rd Jan 2020 to 9th March 2020. I reside in the US (F1 Student visa), but am currently in India for my winter break. - Can i still apply for insurance on Insubuy even when i am not currently present in the USA? Also, is the coverage cashless, i.e. would the insurance pay for charges directly or do I have to pay out of pocket and then file for reimbursement?

A:
You are able to purchase insurance for your travels to France even though you are outside of the United States. You can view the the plans in our Schengen Visa Insurance section to select an appropriate plan and make your purchase. If they providers are willing to bill directly the plans will pay directly to the provider for the eligible expenses.
