Q:I am in a special situation and was wondering if you could help me. My husband and me live in Portland OR. We got married July 4th 2019 and I am an Austrian citizen waiting for adjustment of status/applied for permanent residence (I 485). I already had my fingerprints and pictures taken by Homeland Security waiting for the final Interview (what is now probably delayed). I do have an Austrian travel insurance and it will expire May 1st. I need to stay in the country during adjustment of status and I am not allowed to travel back to Austria by law. In Austria I work as a freelance journalist and author and do have a regular insurance (still paying for that). But I need one in addition for here (for at least a few months until my green card comes through). My partner is enrolled in the Oregon health plan but I think there is no possibility that he can include me in his plan. I do not have a SSN yet this is the main problem.
