Q:patriot america vs. protection america Hello, My inlaws are planning to visit us for from India for about 6 months starting 11/16 and I have long decided that I would want to purchase the IMG insurance for both of them. I had some questions regarding the Protection America and the Patriot America plans: 1. Can I purchase them for an initial period of three months and then renew on a monthly basis? 2. Incase I purchase any one of the two plans for say 3 months and they return back to India after say 2 months will I get a refund for the unused remaining policy period? 3. Patriot America is NOT renewable. Does that mean its a better plan that Protection America? Please let me know on these three counts. Thanks!

A:
1 & 2. I suggest you read 3. Being able to renew is a good thing. Therefore, Protection America is better. And therefore, you should buy Protection America, as it is an enhanced version of Patriot America. Please let me know if you have any other questions

Q:protection america question I am planning to buy protection america and had a question. Does the deductible apply from the beginning? So, if the patient visits the doctor and doctor charges 100 bucks, then it will come out of our pocket, until the deductible max is met? After that 80% uptil 5000. Am I correct? I would really appreciate if you could answer the question.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing Protection America. You have to first pay the deductible before insurance company starts paying anything. In other words, you have to first pay the deductible even for the doctor visit. Deductible is maximum once a year. After the deductible, insurance company pays 80% for first $5,000 in eligible medical expenses, you pay 20%. After $5,000, it will pay 100% up to policy maximum. I hope that answers your question. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Q:protection america deductible I have query on Protection America Plan. I understand that deductible is taken when normally hospitalisation happens. What is the procedure of doctor visit without any hospitalisation in this plan? Do we have to give deductible first when we only visit doctor? Regards

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitor medical insurance. You have to first pay the deductible once before insurance company will pay anything, whether it is Dr. visit or hospitalization or anything else. It is the same procedure for everything. Please look at /international-medical-ppo-network/ for details. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. This helps lot in making decisions! One question - Do we have any comprehensive insurance with max limit $25000? I don't see one on your site. No such plan exists in the market. I am planning to buy comprehensive plan today. I am looking at Protection America and Patriot America. I want renewal facility as I want to purchase for 2 months now and then renew may be only once. Which one to go for? You should purchase Protection America. In fact, look at You can make instant purchase online at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. Person to be insured is yet to arrive in US. But is there anything more to be done if someone to be insured is in US within last ONE month. I understand beyond that some companies need prior insurance. If the person is yet to arrive, no problem. If the person is in US and is 65+ years of age or older, he needs to buy insurance within 1 month of arrival of US or have prior coverage to buy any IMG insurance. So within 1 month of arrival is as good as yet to arrive for 65+ right? Friend of mine wants to go for it. Arrival is within one month. Nothing extra to be done, right? Just like buying online for yet to arrive case, right? Thanks for your quick responses always! 1. Yes, yet to arrive is good for any age. 2. Yes, as long as eligible, the procedure is same. Additionally, in case of 65+ who is already in the US, you have to provide the name and expiration date of current insurance, if in US for more than 1 month.

Q:protection america vs. atlas america I want to buy insurance for 4 wks from 24 Oct on visit to USA for me 65 and my wife 56. I will be visiting my son. Protection America and Atlas America are companies that you have recommended at one place. I want to understand how does the system. I am looking for a system, where I take an insurance. When I feel the need to get admitted to a hospital, I ring up the insurance company coordinator, he gives me the telephone number of hospitals in Boston (this is of particular interest) and other cities and I call the hospital, tell them my insurance number and they say yes we respect that insurance company and you can get admitted. I am looking for a solution where I do not have to pay upfront and the hospital bills the insurance company directly. But I want to be liasing with the insurance company contact all the time, so that I can do what I can to make sure the insurance company later say, no this is not approved . I suppose you understand the broad approach. Does the system in the US based companies work this way? I shall thank you for a feed back.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitor medical insurance for yourself and your wife. I suggest you read /international-medical-ppo-network/ and /travel-and-student-insurance-ppo-network/ that would best answer your question. If you still have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Q:Is renewal automatic? Hi, My parents are visiting US from March to Jun about 4 months, father is 71 yr and mother is 57yrs and need up to $100,000 coverage. Can I buy insurance with automatic renewal up to months on monthly basis. The reason I am asking as I don't have to pay lump sum amount of @1000USD at once in the starting of insurance coverage. Please let me know.

A:
Thank you for the inquiry. You can pay on monthly basis. But the renewal is not automatic. You have to do it manually. However, it is very easy process, takes about 2-3 minutes and you can either do it online or over the phone. If you have any other questions, please let me know Hi, one more question regarding policy cancellation. Lets say If I buy the policy for 4 months at once from March June and if my parents did visit US at all then Can I get the full refund or what is the company policy. If they visited but did not stay here for 4 months stayed only 2 months then will I get refund for balance. Thanx and Regards If you are cancelling before the effective date of the insurance, you will get full refund. If you are cancelling after the effective date, refund policy differs depending upon which plan you are purchasing. e.g. Visitors Care: Fully unused months minus $25 cancellation fee. Protection America: Fully unused months minus $25 cancellation fee. If you have claims, it may be difficult to get a refund. If you are planning to buy any other insurance policy, please let me know so that I can tell you accurate renewal and refund policy. Could you please give me rate quote for my paretnts who are visiting USA from Oct 20th to Feb 14th. Male - DOB 11/24/1933 Female - DOB- 02/18/1947 I would like to have monthly payment plan. For $50,000 coverage and $75 deductible, Visitors Care would cost $91/month for your father and $63/month for your mother. Details at /visitors-care-insurance/ For $50,000 coverage and $250 deductible, Protection America would cost $249/month for your father and $135/month for your mother. Details at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ You can purchase either of the plans online right there. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. Thanx for your prompt reply. What is the major differece between Visitor Care and Protection America plans as there is lot price diff. Could you please suggest which is better plan? Is there any distinct disadvantage for going per month renewal v/s full purchase. Visitors Care is a fixed coverage plan. Read /visitors-insurance-fixed-coverage-plans/ Protection America is a comprehensive coverage plan. Read /visitors-insurance-comprehensive-coverage-plans/ Protection America is better. Total premium remains same whether you do monthly renewal vs. full purchase. However, Protection America: Whenever you renew the insurance, there is $5 renewal fee. Deductible is annual. Visitors Care: Whenever you renew the insurance, there is $5 renewal fee. Additionally, your deductible starts over again. Deductible is per period of coverage. And period of coverage is however long you pay for insurance at one time. It may be much faster if you can just call us at 1-866-INSU-BUY. We are available from 9 AM till 10 pm, Monday to Saturday.
