Q:Hi, I am a F-1 student currently studying in the US and my parents are coming to visit me for my graduation in June for about a week. However, my mother has a pre-existing condition (Schizophrenia) which is classified as a mental illness. I understand that a lot of visitor/travel insurance policies exclude this condition from their fine print. Would you mind sending me a list of policies which do provide insurance for this condition?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, there is no plan available on the market that will cover her pre-existing condition. Plans will cover any new illness or injury that occur after the effective date. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:Hi, I am a French teacher participating in a cultural exchange in an International School in Arizona. I came with my husband and our 3 children (all J2). On June the 6th, our current health insurance will stop and I would like to know what you can propose us, because our situation will be complicated. On the 6 of June, I go to France with my 3 children while my husband stays here. We need a coverage when we are there. Then I come back on the 7 of July, but only with 2 of my children. The last one comes back on the 31 of July. So I'd like to know if we all can buy insurance with you even if it isn't the same (at the beginning, my husband will need to be insured for USA whereas we will need for France, and then only one of my daughter will need for France). I hope you understand what I mean. I have a J1 and my husband as well as my children have a J2. We don't have specific requirements.

A:
Based on the information provided below we would recommend the ExchangeGuard plan to cover your husband in the U.S. You may purchase the Atlas International for the rest of the family as you travel to France. You may extend until the coverage until 07/31/2019 for the third child.

Q:I am confuse on what is the coverage exactly for Exchange Guard. Can you break it down for me please? In case of accidents, what expenses are included, hospitals. Do you cover visit at the doctors "in network"? And clinic visits for non emergencies?

A:
The ExchangeGuard plan will primarily provide coverage for new illnesses, injuries or accidents which occur after the effective date of the policy. For any eligible medical expenses the plan will pay either 100% up to the policy maximum, after the deductible or 80% of the first $5,000, and then 100% to the policy maximum. You have the option to select out of one of these two coinsurance options. This plan has two options either the Choice or Essential. The ExchangeGuard Essential has a 12 month waiting period for pre-existing conditions, and the ExchangeGuard Choice has a 6 month waiting period before pre-existing conditions are covered in the amount of $500. This plan utilizes the First Health PPO network. You may visit any provider you'd like, but in-network providers have agreed to contract negotiated rates and are more likely to provide direct billing. Please use the link provided below to search for providers within your area.
