Q:Is "Safe Travels USA Comprehensive" or "Visitors Protest Travel Insurance" extendable? Let's say, if I am not sure about the duration of our stay in the USA, can I buy 3 months coverage of any of these insurances and in case I need, extend it to 5 months later?

A:
Visitors Protect Travel insurance is not extendable. So you have to purchase for whole duration. Safe Travels USA Comprehensive insurance is extendable maximum up to 364days.

Q:Hello, I want to know the term effective date. I can see that the coverage is refundable before the effective date. What do you mean by effective date? If my travel dates are 04/15/2023 to 04/30/2023 and purchasing the coverage for that term, what would be the effective date? When I can cancel the insurance for a full refundable?

A:
The effective date of a policy would be the date listed on the certificate that it is set to start. The refund policy would depend on the specific plan. Our licensed agents would be happy to provide that information to you if you call our office to speak with an agent.

Q:Safe travels elite plan says it includes one wellness visit with 21 days of plan onset. Is this visit and the routine tests performed fully covered?

A:
You can read about the wellness visit offered through the plan here: /safe-travel-insurance/wellness-visit/ You would need to register for the wellness visit and go to the appointment within the first 21 days. It is a basic exam and after registering, you will have a form you will take to the Dr. to sign. It shows the codes that can be used for the exam. You would pay up front for the exam, and then, submit a claim and the signed form. Once processed, you would be reimbursed up to the $125.00. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I have two elderly in-law parents who may be coming to the U.S. from their home in China for six months in 2023. They are healthy for their ages but old--90 and 82. We could manage costs up to a fairly high level but would like to be insured for costs above, say, 50,000. Is there an insurance plan that would get us there?

A:
Unfortunately the highest maximum for people around that age is only up to 50,000. the 82 year old can purchase multiple plans from different companies to reach a higher maximum.

Q:Do you provide a cashless insurance card which will be sent to our mailing address in USA.Will you give a list of affiliated hospitals in the mailing address area who can be approached for treatment if required.

A:
If you are referring to Visitor plans, they will provide an ID card after purchase. Some plans supply only electronic ID cards you print out and some plans will also mail plastic ID cards through postal mail. Direct billing is up to the provider. They will either bill the insurance company or have you pay up front and file a claim. That decision is up to the individual provider and not the insurance company. Therefore there is not a cashless plan concept for visitors. Plans that have PPO networks will provide a search link for you to locate in-network providers for negotiated rates. Some plans do not have a PPO network. You may also go out of network for covered expenses but will have higher out of pocket costs. Also, in network doesn't mean they will direct bill, it means for covered services under the plan, you would receive the negotiated rates for those services only. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
