Q: My visa status is G4. I will be in the US for 6 months. Please recommend the most basic plan.

A:
If you are staying only 6 months than any of the plans in the Visitors To The USA section will work. There are 2 types of plans, fixed coverage and comprehensive. The fixed coverage plans are considered very basic because they pay a fixed amount according to a schedule of benefit so if anything happens the majority of the cost will come from your pocket. The comprehensive plans will pay a percentage. We would recommend a comprehensive plan. You can review the plans online and let us know if you have any questions about the available plans.

Q:I had open heart surgery on 9/11/18 and I plan to spend a week in Barbados in February. Would I be covered under your plan?

A:
The plans are designed to cover any new accidents or new illnesses that happens after the effective date of the policy. So most plans on the market will exclude anything that has occurred before the effective day.
