Q:I will be in Chicago from Sep 10/2018 through June 30/2019. The university I will work in requires me to have health insurance that covers "pre-existing conditions with no exclusions or waiting period". In other words, coverage can't be limited to acute exacerbation only. Do you have plans that offer that? I don't actually have any pre-existing conditions, but the university requires this feature of the plan.

A:
Unfortunately, the available plans all have at least a 6 month waiting period so they would not meet the requirements. You would have to purchase the plan the university is offering to be able to meet their requirements. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:My dad (aged 70) is travelling from India to America next week. So I am looking out for a travel and medical insurance plan for him. Please suggest the plans you have for the same.

A:
We recommend the comprehensive plans, and for people over the age of 70, we would recommend the Atlas America and Safe Travels Comprehensive plans. These plans will allow for higher overall policy maximums for that age group as well as higher acute onset benefit limits. If you have any questions, or need any additional assistance, please let us know. You can also contact our office directly at (866)-INSUBUY, and one of our licensed professionals can assist.

Q:I will be traveling from Costa Rica to the USA with my husband and two daughters from Sept 11-Oct 14th. I am 38 years old, a Canadian citizen and Costa Rican resident. My husband is 46 years old, a US citizen and Costa Rican resident. My eldest daughter is 4 years old (born on Oct 29,2014). My youngest daughter is 1 year old (born on July 18th,2017). Both of my daughters are US/Canadian/Costa Rican citizens. Can you recommend an insurance plan for us please?

A:
You can all purchase the same plan but the US citizens will be on one policy and you on your own. Please see the link for the plan we recommend that will cover you, as well as your family: Patriot America Plus When you do the application you will need to put your home country address and not a US address for residence address. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.
