Q:A US citizen is legally working in Scotland and covered by NHS. It appears that NHS does not cover him while visiting in US. Is this correct? How can he get health insurance for his trip to the US.

A:
Our insurance provides coverage outside your country of residence. Even though you are US Citizen but you don't live in US but you are visiting US for short term. You can purchase Travel medical insurance which will provide you coverage in US.

Q:My brother bought Travel Guard from AIG this April on the day of his departure for home country on a long visit. The departure & return dates were mentioned on the policy. He is a green card holder and had to return back before 6 months. He is otherwise well but can travel only with a family escort. So he bought a one way ticket deferring buying return ticket at a later date with a family escort. He became sick 10 days after arriving to his destination which was life threatening and he was admitted to an intensive care for more than 3 weeks. We filed the claim next day of his admission but it was denied giving reason that as no return ticket was bought so the insurance expired on arriving to his destination. In the policy terms, the words "one way trip" and "two way trip" are mentioned but at no point in the policy or while buying the policy online, we got an impression that a two way trip is considered two way only if return ticket is bought before departure. Kindly, suggest if our claim is valid and suggest further options. We are about to file an appeal.

A:
Insubuy as a broker we provide insurance from many companies. We don't offer Travel Guard plan from AIG. We provide insurance only from U S Companies. But in general trip insurance you have to purchase for round trip. You can't purchase for one way. Please find difference between Travel medical Vs Trip insurance

Q:What if the applicant has an insurance from his country? Will you cancel it or accept it? But he will still get an immigrant visa insurance

A:
There are plans available in the New Immigrant section of the website that are available for new immigrants into the country. These plans will pay secondary to any other payable insurance that the insured may have. The insurance from the home country would not be cancelled by the secondary company, it will be at the discretion of the insured if they'd like to maintain coverage under both policies.

Q:Hi I am travelling from NZ to USA in July and wish to confirm the following with regard to your COVID medical insurance:1. Does the cover still apply even if my own country has a "do not travel" advice for USA (where I am travelling to2. Is the Policy limit I select e.g 2M the full amount available for COVID cover?

A:
With purchasing from a U.S. based company the only applicable authorities for travel would be, The U.S. department of State or the Center for Disease and Control (based upon the plan) that will affect plan coverages based upon travel warnings. Your home country's travel warnings will not have any bearing on the plan coverage. The level of coverage purchased will be up to you and it is available based upon your age. If you would like assistance with selecting a plan and maximum, you can call our office at (866)INSUBUY a licensed agent will be happy to assist you.
