Q:Hello, my mother is 65 years old from India and recently from her regular health checkup it was identified that aortic valve in her heart is not functioning well. Doctors in India suggested to replace the valve by doing open heart surgery. I am in USA with my h1b and would like to know the insurance and cost details IF we decide to do it here in USA. Please suggest what kind of insurance plan can I consider for her? Note: She is still in India.

A:
As a visitor into the United States there is not a plan that can be purchased to cover the cost of the procedure for her pre-existing condition. If she is traveling for medical tourisim then this would be an out of pocket expense. You can contact docotors directly to see what the cost would be for a cash paying pateint.

Q:Our trip was delayed due to a change in the transit covid testing times in Frankfurt, Germany. This resulted in us rebooking for the following day and having to get covid testing. We also missed an additional flight which we had to cancel due to no additional flights being available the following day. Is the cost of the flight that was canceled covered and is the covid test cost covered in our plan?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The Safe Travels Outbound Cost Saver plan has a benefit for travel delay that you can view in the plan benefits section. To verify the benefits and eligibility of the plan you would call the number listed on the ID card and they would be able to verify that information for you. With regard to COVID-19 test, the plans that include the coverage for COVID-19 will allow for the testing coverage as long as it is deemed medically necessary. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance please let us know.
