Q:I have a question about the "pre-existing conditions" in travel medical insurance. My mom is coming to visit me, but we haven't decided on the date to return, so I would like to purchase the insurance by month. If my mom purchases one-month travel insurance, and if any medical conditions happen on her in that month, if she would like to extend the travel insurance for another month, do you consider that condition happened in the previous month as a pre-existing condition for the following month?

A:
As long as the same policy is being extended the plan will continue to cover any need for eligible expenses occurred in the first month of coverage. If the policy is not extend prior to the expiration date, you will have to repurchase the plan and anything that happened in that first policy will be considered a pre-existing condition. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I'm a German citizen currently in Australia on holiday for another 5 weeks and I was considering purchasing one of your plans but I noticed the following on your restrictions page: "Additional Restrictions-Proposed insureds cannot be physically located in the following countries at the time of purchase: Australia, Canada.". Because I'm currently on holiday in Australia, does that mean I cannot take out a policy? Or does it mean the restrictions only apply "IF" I cannot be physically located at the time of purchase? It's a confusing statement. Thanks for this

A:
There are some plans that will have this specific restriction that you cannot purchase the Atlas International plan if you are physically located in the country of Australia at the time of application. There is a plan called Patriot International that you can purchase for coverage while you are physically located in the country of Australia. If you have any additional questions please feel free to contact our office.
