Careington Discount Plan There is a $20.00 one-time non-refundable set up fee, and the plan is $11.95 a month. Therefore, the first month would be $39.95, and then $11.95 each month after. Q:Does Patriot America Plus covers expenses from local hospital visit due to flight restriction? Here's my situation: my return flight is cancelled due to covid-19, and I discovered some lump that I need to check at local hospital (potentially requires surgery). Is my travel insurance going to cover the cost? Also, due to covid-19, I can't find a way back to my normal health provider as there's no flight available. Plus the additional flight I booked are most likely going to be cancelled.

A:
We would be glad to assist. Your current Patriot Plan can cover you for Covid-19 if you were to contract it, because you purchased your policy before 3/27/20. However, it will not cover anything related to travel delays, trip expenses, or anything preventative, routine, or pre-existing. Therefore, whatever condition you have, if it were to be pre-existing, meaning it was manifesting before the effective date of the policy or is related or due to a pre-existing condition, it would not be covered. Any treatment for a pre-existing condition would need to be paid for out of pocket. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I'm a post doc in UT austin and also J1 holder. To meet the J1 insurance requirement (AD&D $100,000), I should buy an additional (voluntary) AD&D of $60,000, since my employer provides a Basic plan which covers AD&D of $40,000. (I already bought international SOS) Could you recommend a plan for me?

A:
We would be glad to advise. We have plans that meet the standard J1 requirements including the $100,000 policy maximums. There is not a $100,000 AD&D requirement in the standard requirements. I am not sure of that's something your employer is requiring? All of the plans in our J1 section meet all standard requirements. You can run quotes for the available plans here. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
