Q:international major medical insurance clause Hello I was applying for the "international major medical"insucance , but this phrase made me feel nervous "This insurance contract is with an insurer not licensed to transact insurance in this state and is issued and delivered as a surplus line coverage pursuant to the Texas insurance statutes. The State Board of Insurance does not audit the finances or review the solvency of the surplus lines insurer providing this coverage, and this insurer is not a member of the property and casualty insurance guaranty association created under Article 21.28-C, Insurance Code. Article 1.14-2, Insurance Code, requires payment of 4.85 percent tax on gross premium." does it mean that i cannot contract the services in Texas? I do not understand exactly this phrase Thanks for your attention

Q:Visitors insurance for wife in New Jersey I need a visitor health insurance for mt wife who is at present in new Jersy. Her date of birth is 28th April 1956.i would like to know what are all the hospitals covered in new Jersy, besides informing me about the emergency admission and pre existing illness. She will be in USA till 19th Jan 2014.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitor health insurance for your wife. Please let us know whether she is on visitors visa or has green card. She has come on visitor visa on 6 months stay I.e. 19th Jan 2014. While giving such details, pl inform the name of the hospitals that are covered in new Jersey, Edison besides emergency hospitalisation and the cover for pre existing . Apart from that in case of emergency, whether the hospital authorities not to raise any objection for admission or taking treatment either as outpatient or in patient. Please look at Atlas America insurance at /atlasamerica-insurance/ The list of hospitals can be found at /travel-and-student-insurance-ppo-network/ No insurance plan covers pre-existing conditions but this plan cover acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Please read /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ for further details. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. I am sending this mail from India. Also I would like to inform you that I am a senior citizen and I need a reply for my queries and not to see any links. If you are able to provide such details, I shall be more happy and also your assurance about the insurance which you intend to refer. I have already provided you all the answers to the details you asked. New Jersey is a big place (it is an entire state) and therefore, it is not possible to list all the hospitals in an email. You need to enter the city or zip code and then you will be able to see the links. It might be easier for you if you ask your son or daughter or other relative who lives in the US to contact us as they would be able to understand it better. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:Visitors insurance for 89 years old mother I am bringing my Mum over from Uk. She is 89 years old. Very healthy except for over active thyroid which she is already taking medications. Am I able to get health insurance for her? will all be covered, i.e emergency hospital, or god forbid death? If you could let me know. Also she is expected to stay for about 8month. So I would want to take out the policy monthly?

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing visitors insurance for your mother. At her age, no of choices are limited. The best one would be Safe Travels USA, available at /safe-travels-usa-insurance/ It will cover any new medical conditions, injuries or accidents that occur after the effective date of the policy. Additionally, it will cover up to $1,000 in acute onset of pre-existing conditions. You can purchase initially for minimum of 3 months and then you can extend it month by month. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.

Q:Buy insurance - Atlas or Patriot I read some of your comments on the discussion board. I'd like to clarify with you if I should go for Patriot American OR Atlas (comprehensive). Details: My mother 64 years old will be arriving in NJ July 1st 2013 for 4 months. She is good health. My Father 73years old will also be coming at same time for same time period. He is in good health. Given high premiums (about $800 and $1000), which one do you recommend? Patriot/Atlas ? Thanks for your advice.

A:
For mother, Atlas America is better. For father, Patriot America is better. You can get the complete details of both the plans at https://www.insubuy.com Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:Pre-existing conditions - Acute onset vs sudden recurrence - difference Hi, I'm trying to decide between the Liaison Continent A and Patriot America. What's the difference in pre-existing coverage? Liaison Continent A says that it covers $50000 for acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Patriot America covers $50000 for sudden and unexpected recurrence of pre-existing conditions. My father-in-law's age is 56, the amount covered should be the same. But I don't understand the difference between "acute onset" and "sudden and unexpected recurrence" -- are they the same? Thanks,

A:
Please read /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ /sudden-and-unexpected-recurrence-of-pre-existing-conditions/ In short, acute onset of pre-existing conditions provides a lot broader coverage in a lot more situations compared to sudden/unexpected recurrence of pre-existing conditions.

Q:Question re: visa to visit Europe My parents, who are currently visiting the US, would health insurance coverage for a short trip to Europe. They are currently covered by the Atlas Comprehensive policy, bought thru your website. Could you please let me know if their current Atlas policy would also cover them during their week-long trip to Europe?

A:
Yes, that plan would cover them in Europe too. If you need to print the visa letter for Schengen visa, you can do so at /myaccount/ Please let me know if you have any other questions. I have another question for you. I will have my in-laws traveling from India to Europe, on their way to the US. I was going to buy the same Atlas insurance that my parents currently have, but I have two quick questions: 1. Could I start my in-laws' insurance coverage in Europe and continue that in the US? I believe the answer is "yes", but just need to confirm. 2. Does this Atlas policy also provide coverage in the UK? Many thanks in advance. 1. Yes. 2. Yes. You can purchase it online at /atlas-america-insurance/ One follow-up question. My in-laws are now planning to go back to India after their trip to Europe and then visit US after 2-3 weeks. Would it be possible to pause the coverage on the Atlas policy so that they don't lose the 2-3 weeks in between? Once they return to home country (India), the coverage would expire. Also, these are single trip policy. Technically, these should be two trips in your case. Therefore, you should buy two separate policies.
