Q:Hello! I am interested in buying travel insurance specific to our needs. My son (3 years old) and I (30 years old) will be traveling to the USA on December 12, 2018 - January 11, 2019. We currently live in Japan, but I am a US citizen and my son is a US/Japan dual citizen. My son has asthma, but it is stable and there has been no change in medication for approximately two years. I am looking for a plan that will cover him in case he has an asthma attack. He should be perfectly fine, but healthcare in the US is too expensive to take any chances. Could you please tell us our options? I am interested in Patriot GoTravel International. Would this work for us?

A:
We would be glad to advise. The plan we would recommend for you and your child, would the Patriot America Plus plan. It is a comprehensive plan that will cover U.S. citizens, as well as Dual citizens that include U.S. citizenship, while visiting. All plans for visitors on the market, cover new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. They do not cover preventative care, routine maintenance, or pre-existing conditions. The Patriot America Plus plan however, does include acute onset coverage. This benefit provides the possibility of coverage for acute onset of pre-existing conditions. If you have any additional questions, or need any additional assistance, please let us know.

Q:My mother-in-law is coming to US for about 6 months. Could you please provide me details for her insurance? Here are her details: DOB: 2nd Jan 1957 Date of Departure from India: 14th Nov 2018 Date of Arrival at Seattle: 15th Nov 2018 Date of Dep from USA: 11th May 2019 Arrival in India: 12th May 2019

A:
Patriot America PlusWe would recommend purchasing the Atlas America, or Safe Travels USA Comprehensive to have the Acute Onset Benefit since the Patriot America does not include that. To purchase, you can click on the purchase link for the plan you choose or you can call our office and purchase over the phone. Either way, it will be the same process same cost.

Q:Hi there, I'm a Venezuelan mom traveling from Sweden with my 1-year-old son to the USA, he is an American citizen and I can't purchase an insurance with me because he is American... there is a special case? Thank you

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Your understanding is correct. You can't do one application for US Citizen and Non US Citizen. You can purchase Patriot America for you and your son but you need to do separate application. If you provide your travel dates, age, which state do you need coverage and will be glad to send you quote by e-mail. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:I am considering buying ExchangeGuard Essential coverage from Nov 15, 2018 to Aug 23, 2019. When getting a free quote, the system tells me the price. Is this the premium per month, or the price for the entire coverage from November 2018 until August 2019?

A:
The quote would be for the dates you entered into the system. Also, directly under the cost it says for the number of days. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am an international student from Italy. I will start a master degree on January 7th 2019 at Florida International University (FIU) main campus in Miami. I would like to purchase an insurance plan with you, but in order to do it, the plan must fulfill the minimum standard requirements. You need to verify that the basic benefits are included in the policy I will do with you. Otherwise, this policy won't be accepted. I am going to attach the form you need to follow. Moreover, even though I start the master degree on January 7th 2019, I will arrive in Miami on December 11th 2018. So, if it is possible I would like to start the policy on the day I arrive until August 16th 2019 as the University requires. Before you complete the form and send it to FIU Student Health Services, I would like to know which plan fits my needs.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The plan we would recommend that will meet your requirements is the Study USA Preferred plans. Please see the link below for more information including the quote and purchase link. The form can be completed once a plan is purchased. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.
