Q:Good morning, I am looking for a travel insurance for a week-long trip to NYC. I am a 30 y-o Italian citizen, currently living and working in Sweden. Funnily enough, I don't seem to find European insurance companies that suit my case (long story short: Italian insurance companies can't offer cover anymore because I moved my residency, and Swedish companies can't either because I have just moved and I am waiting for the documents to make it official... therefore, until I receive Swedish tax number and ID I am not yet considered a resident). If I read correctly you offer cover also to non-US residents? How does it work? I have no pre existing conditions or medical problems - I am just looking for a general healthcare/coverage for medical emergencies and travel insurance for this trip, which would take place from Dec 2 to Dec 10, 2017. I look forward to hearing from you, thank you and have a nice da.

Q:I'm exploring medical insurance for my son and his wife and 7 children, who are citizens and residents of the UK. They are staying in Redding in California, on a student Visa M1 for my son (and M2 for the others) until end of May next year. We are looking for basic all round medical insurance for the whole family for this period. All the family are healthy and well with no known conditions, except for one 9 year old child. She had a successful operation as a baby to fix a 'hole in the heart'. Here are the details: - Tetralogy of Fallots - Expected to need further surgery in coming years - Does not currently suffer any symptoms Can you help?

A:
Yes, there are plans available which will provide coverage to individuals on an M1/M2 visa. Before purchasing you may want to verify the plan will meet the University requirements if there are any specific requirements. Most plans will plans will not provide coverage for a pre-existing condition until the policy has been in force for either 6 or 12 months. Unfortunately, there is no plan available which will provide coverage for a pre-existing condition immediately after the effective date. The Study USA, and Patriot Exchange Program plans are two of the more popular plans in the students section of our website. You may view these plans and purchase by using the links provided. You may also purchase over the phone by contacting our office at (866) INSUBUY. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:I am looking to purchase travel insurance from your company and I am not sure how to fill in the forms. I am a British citizen currently residing in Brazil. In December I will travel back to the UK for two weeks, and then fly to Florida for one week, before returning to Brazil. I need insurance to cover me for the entirety of this trip. The first question on your insurance form asks for my 'home country', which I understand is the country I was born in and is therefore the UK. However, your website says that cover is not provided within your home country. As a non-resident of the UK, I need travel insurance when I visit. Can you advise me whether you can provide the cover I need for my trip? Is my home country now considered Brazil?

A:
As a resident of Brazil, Brazil would be considered your "Home Country" as this is where your true fixed permanent residence is. Plans are designed to cover you anywhere outside of your home country. You would run a quote in the Travel to USA section of the Insubuy website since a portion of your trip would include travel in the United States. Please use the link listed below to generate a quote for coverage.
