Q:Permanent Resident health insurance coverage Thank you for any assistance you can give us. My wife and I are moving to the USA in July of this year. I am a US citizen (born in Longview, WA, in 1951). I have been a permanent resident of Australia since 1974. My wife is an Australian citizen and has applied for permanent residency in the US. I am interested in finding out what type of insurance would be available to us.

For you, the plans in the short term domestic /short-term-health-insurance/ will be available until you turn 65. Once you have reached 65 or if you already are then you would have to check with Medicare to see if you can sign up for that. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:Green card holder insurance questions Hi! I am a new green card holder who arrived last October 9, 2015. My husband tried to enroll me as his dependent online a few weeks after I arrived. We thought the insurance company of where he worked for had approved it. Thus, we waited patiently for our insurance ID's. Earlier today, we found out that our request didn't went though. That's why we are looking for some alternative where I can at least enroll myself temporarily on a cheaper price. We are eyeing on Inbound Immigrant plan but have second thoughts about it. Is this only applicable for those who have visa? Or is this also applicable to new permanent residents. We hope you can shed some light regarding this matter. Looking forward to a prompt reply. Thank you.

Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. You are eligible to purchase plans under the new immigrant section of our website /new-immigrant-insurance/ where the Inbound Immigrant is one option.
