Q:I am looking for the right travel insurance for my parents who will be visiting me soon. Both are under 60 years of age and are currently healthy. My father underwent an Angioplasty procedure in April 2015 and there has been no incident since then. I am looking for a medical insurance that will especially cover my father in case he has a condition related to his heart and needs to see a doctor immediately. Does this insurance also cover an issue during the journey to and from the US?

A:
As a broker, we provide insurance from most of the major companies. None of the plans will pay for routine maintenance for the pre-ex. However, some plan has coverage for the acute onset of pre-existing conditions below age 70yrs.. More information on acute onset of pre-ex can be found here. It will be determined by the claim dept. based on the attending physician notes whether it's acute onset of pre-ex or not. You can purchase either Atlas America or Patriot America plus, You can compare these plans on our website Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans, you can narrow by with pre-ex coverage plan and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:I am planning to buy insurance for my father who is visiting from India in June. My father suffered a heart attack in November 2009 for which he was treated with angioplasty with stent placement. I would like to understand which insurance will cover him if he suffers another heart attack in the future while he is in United States or traveling to United States? Will it be covered as a preexisting condition or as a regular emergency situation? Based on the above, could you please let me know the policy to apply for?

Q:Hello, Is visitor care considered as health insurance? I mean can I submit it to my to my college as a proof of having health insurance? I need to know about it please. I'm a student and permanent resident for 4 years (Green card holder for almost 4 years). I just need it for one year.

A:
As a green card holder you are required to have a domestic insurance that is ACA compliant in order to avoid penalties for not having a compliant plan. It is advisable to purchase an insurance plan from your University in order to have a proper medical insurance for a U.S. Permanent resident. If you need any further clarification please feel free to contact our office.
