Q:I am on a B1 visa and am planning to purchase one of your visitor plans. I do not have any pre-existing condition. but in case I plan to visit a physician or OBGYN for a routine checkup. will that be covered?

A:
No. That will be excluded from the plan. Insurance will pay for whatever treatment medically necessary as long as it's not pre-existing conditions or preventive care.

Q:I am looking at buying a health insurance for my the whole family for our trip to Europe. Do you provide a official letter that states the coverage as it is required for the Schengen visa? If so what is the process of requesting the same and in how many days can I get it? Is the letter combined for the whole family or do you provide individual letters for each member of the family (since we have separate appointment dates)? If you do not provide separate letters, do I have to buy individual insurance for each member (it is more expensive than buying for the whole family together)?

A:
After you purchase the insurance, you can download the letter online in MyAccount within 30 minutes. Letter is combined, but you can print many copies. If you want separate letters, apply separately. There is no price difference. Buy online at: Schengen Visa Insurance

Q:I am checking insurance options for my son who will be going to college in the US. I checked your website but couldn't understand whether the premium amounts where periodic payments or one total sum for the chosen coverage period. Could you please clarify?

A:
It depends upon the plan you choose. For example, StudentSecure allows you single payment or monthly payment.

Q:Hi we are almost ready to purchase the policies. Three more questions: 1. do these policies cover cruise trip? 2. the policy for 80+ has $10,000 for lifetime limit. is this enough for Schengen visa? 3. I saw the policies cover medical and repatriation. do they cover hospitalization costs as well, under which expense category? here is the visa requirement for insurance policy: Provide letter or certificate from insurance company showing coverage for medical expenses, hospitalization costs and repatriation for medical reasons, for the days you are outside the United States. Insurance coverage must not be less than 30,000 Euro.

A:
If you are US residents then the cruise will be covered once you are outside of the US. No, a $10,000 policy max is not enough to meet the Schengen visa requirements. You will have to choose the one plan that will offer the $50,000 policy max for 80+ insured. Please see the Safe Travels International Cost Saver for the 80+ insured. Once you have completed the purchase you will receive an email that has your visa letter that lists the benefits of the plan for the consulate.
