Q:Coverage state to state? Hi I live in Chile and plan to visit the US for three weeks with my son. I selected your online offer for medical insurance during this time. In the buying process I'm asked for the state I want to travel to. Problem is that we’ll visit various cities (Miami, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC and New York). Obviously I'm looking for coverage for the full trip, not only for one state. Is that guaranteed? If so, why do you ask for a state? Kind regards

A:
Hello, The reason the state is asked for is because there are some state restrictions. When providing the state choose the state that you will be using for your mailing address. Once you have purchased a plan it will cover you in all the states.

Q:Coverage for Sports Insurance Dear Sir/Madam, I am from new zealand, looking for insurance coverage for a long distance triathlon race I am competing in in Sweden on the 27th of June this year. It is a 4km swim, 120km bike and 30km triathlon. I already have comprehensive travel insurance for the duration of my trip, however I have learnt this does not cover my participation in the race nor my training in the week leading up to the event for which cover is needed. I need to demonstrate to the international triathlon authority that I am covered in the event of accident during my training and the race. My period of training will be from the 20th of July to the 27th and the race is on the 27th. The international triathlon authority or ITU stipulates: As per section 2.6 of the ITU competition rules: 2.6. Insurance: a.) Each athlete competing in an ITU event must have personal insurance coverage, guaranteed by their NF. This insurance will cover: (i) Any accident occurring before, during and after any competition; (ii) Any sickness that an athlete could suffer during a trip to a competition or event; (iii) Liability caused by an athlete during the competition. b.) The athlete’s NF guarantees the existence of this insurance by entering an athlete in an event. LOCs or NFs organizing an event cannot force the athletes to pay for a race day fee for insurance purposes. I need coverage in regards to 2.6. a. i, and iii. Can you quote me for insurance for training during the week leading up to the race and for competing in the race. Thank you.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, there are no plans that will cover any organized, sanctioned events or practices. Any competitions are excluded from the policies, sports are only covered as leisure activities. If you need any further clarification please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I've just been on your website and had a quote for the Atlas insurance - I'm trying to find J2 insurance as my partner is already covered on her J1 Before proceeding to buy, would you be able to confirm that you would be able to sign the form that I require to progress with the visa - this is attached, and the summary of what's being agreed is below; medical benefits of at least $100,000 per accident or illness; repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000; expenses associated with medical evacuation from the United States to the participant's home country in the amount of $50,000; a deductible not to exceed $500 per accident or illness. The insurance policy must also be underwritten by an insurance corporation having an A.M. Best rating of A- or above, a Fitch Ratings, Inc. rating of "A-" or above; a Moody's Investor Services rating of "A3" or above, a Standard & Poor's Claims-paying Ability rating of A- or above, or a Weiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above OR be backed by the full faith and credit of the government of the exchange visitor's home country. For full details please reference the Code of Federal Regulations (22 CFR Part 62). If your dependents will accompany you from the beginning of your J-1 training program, we recommend that you purchase Cultural Vistas' family insurance. Thanks for your help.
