Q:Patriot GoTravel America Insurance Eligibility Hi I am a UK citizen/resident and will be moving to Michigan on 4 June as a greencard holder. My wife is a US citizen but has resided in the UK for the last 7 years. I have 2 infants (aged 0 and 2) who are US citizens but have resided in UK since birth. I presume I am eligible for coverage (Patroit GoTravel America) along with my children? Can my coverage also include my wife even though she is a US citizen and has previously been a US resident? From my current knowledge, I believe it is difficult for her to get regular coverage until she has resided back in the US for at least six months. Many thanks for your help

A:
You can buy Patriot GoTravel America but your wife or children can't. Your wife and children can purchase Amigo medical insurance. Alternatively, all of you can purchase Amigo. Regarding eligibility, please look at the 'ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS' section. It reads 'Patriot GoTravel America is travel insurance for non-U.S. citizens traveling outside their home country'. Regarding the eligibility of Amigo plan, all of you are eligible because the eligibility requirement is 'any one legally present in the U.S.'. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:'MULTINATIONAL ACCIDENT PLAN' FOR Crew Members Dear Team, Can I use 'MULTINATIONAL ACCIDENT PLAN' FOR Crew Members travelling on ship. And is there any negotiation on premium. Thanks and regards

A:
You can't really use the MAP plan for crew members unless there is a country that you can point to as their main station. However, if they travel mostly to the US, you can put the US as their destination and write the plan that way. Premium is non-negotiable. There would be appx 100 crew travelling over a period of 01 year. However their port of exit can be determined. We can provide you with their route of travel. The most important part is whether you cover while they are on ship for a period of 7-8 months. Thanks and regards, The Master Policy includes a definition for Accident/Accidental that states: (a)exposure to the elements resulting from a mishap to a conveyance in which the member is traveling. There is no exclusion for work related injuries. Therefore, it would seem that the only time the member is not covered while on board would be when they are in their Home Country waters. I hope this answers your question. If you have any other doubts or questions, please contact me. Thank you! Please let me know if you have any other questions. Sorry for the delayed reply, Is it possible to issue this policy as worldwide cover except for his home country. Since most of the time the crews will be on International Waters. Thanks and regards, I am sorry that I have not gotten back to you on this inquiry until now. Technically the MAP policy is a worldwide policy. The applicant must simply state which countries they know they will be visiting during the course of the trip at the time of application. What I would recommend that the client do is to highlight all of the countries they are certain they will be traveling to in the MAP quoting tool and obtain a quote that way. Technically there wouldn't be exclusions for any countries for which they were not aware they would be traveling to at the time of the application. That is with the exception of the countries excluded by the Office of Foreign Assets Control which include: Angola, Burma, Iran, Iraq, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Libya, Myanmar, North Korea, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Syria and Zimbabwe. I hope this helps. Please contact me if you have any other questions or if there is anything else I can do for you.

Q:Question on "Protection America" policy being offered Hi, I am interested in buying visitor insurance for my father who is visiting us. His is 67 yrs old and while purchase process I saw a comment about eligibility section for age 65 or older but could not locate it on your website? "Protection America provides coverage for non-US citizens traveling outside their country of citizenship for a minimum of 5 days up to a maximum of 3 years. Protection America plan must be purchased for a minimum initial period of 5 days, and is renewable (without a break in coverage) for 5 days up to 12 months per renewal for a total of 3 years. For each renewal of less than one month, you will be charged a fee of US$5 in addition to the premium costs. An insured person must only satisfy one deductible and coinsurance within each yearly coverage period. If you or other family members applying for coverage are age 65 or older, please see the Eligibility section on page 16 of the Passport Protection Plus brochure for additional information. " Please provide the details so that I can complete the purchase process. Regards,

A:
The rule is you should buy the insurance before he arrives in the US, or within 30 days of arrival in the US, or should have prior insurance. In other words, in order to be eligible for purchase the insurance, the person should not be without insurance in US for 30 days or more. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
