Q:F2 visa holder health insurance Hello, my husband ( F1 holder) already has his health insurance, and as I read through this site If we buy a health insurance plane only for me (F2 holder) we won't find one that covers maternity. My question is will it work if we buy for both of us, but it will be a second health insurance for my husband? Thanks,

A:
Yes. We have several international student insurance plans that cover maternity if you are not already pregnant before the effective date of the policy. Look at /international-student-medical-insurance/ Thanks for your answer. Do you know if buying health insurance plane as secondary makes it cost less? Price is the same as what you see on this web site. There is no different price under any circumstances. Hello I just registered in this site. I'm F2 visa too and I went to the site that you mentioned. But I confused! Can i get maternity insurance just for myself? or My husband (he has already his insurance) should be with me on the plan?? I'm going to have baby and i'm realy desperate because the cost of insurance plans are absolutely expensive....

Q:Comprehensive insurance I have previously purchased insurance from insubuy for my parents, specifically Atlas with coverage protection of about $1MM. As my father is now 70+, I see that the coverage reduces dramatically with Atlas. Can you please recommend a good insurance that can perhaps offer $0.5 MM in coverage, or is Atlas the best option for me? What level of coverage can we get from a reputable provider? Some coverage of pre-existing condition would be ideal but not necessary. We are okay with having different insurance plans for mom and dad (since my mom is in her 60's, we should still be able to get good coverage through Atlas).

A:
For 70+ $100,000 policy max Patriot Platinum America - /patriot-america-platinum-insurance/ $250,000 policy max International Major Medical - /international-major-medical-insurance/ None of the plans would cover anything related to pre-existing conditions for 70+. Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks a lot for your quick response.

Q:atlas vs Liaison continent Hello I read that liaison continent is the best insurance with a big ppo but I've compared the available doctors in my route (SFO-Yosemite-Las Vegas-Page-Grand Canyon-Santa Monica-Big Sur) and it seems that Atlas is better. Perhaps I'm searching wrong? I was thinking in taking Atlas because of their 100% coverage if you go to PPO but there is something I don't understand very well: For charges made by a Physician for professional services, including Surgery. Charges for an assistant surgeon are covered up to 20% of the Usual, Reasonable and Customary charge of the primary surgeon, but standby availability will not be deemed to be a professional service and therefore is not covered hereunder. If I have to be operated of appendicitis or a heart attack, for example, what would be the typcial prices for the assistant surgeon? I understood that I would have to pay 80% of it. regards, Elisa

A:
1. PPO network. You can look at the PPO network in Atlas or Liaison Continent by following the corresponding link at /visitor-insurance/ Those are the providers in a particular area. 2. Assistant surgeon in Atlas: It is not covered at 20% of the charge, but it is covered at 20% of the primary surgeon charge. That is sufficient. In over 10 years that we have been selling the plan, we have never seen that not to be sufficient. In other words, you do NOT have to pay the 80% of the assistant surgeon fee. 3. Standby availability is not covered in either of the plan as it is subject to high misuse by the doctors. Please feel free to contact us or post here if you have any other questions.

Q:Heart attack or stroke coverage Would heart attack, fibrilation or stroke be covered under Liason Continent as an accute onset of preexisting condition? Thanks!

A:
Those are specifically not excluded. I would apperciate very much your oppinion on which comprehensive insurance would be most likely to provide at least some coverage in extreme emergency cases such as heart attack or stroke. There are several comprehensive plans that offer some coverage for the "accute onset of pre-existing condition", and this varies from max coverage of $15000 to $25000. My question is, if a visitor to the US (<65 yr of age) suffers from a hearth attack or stroke (either of which can arguably come from a pre-existing condition), which insurance plan is most likely to cover at least part of the care? Thanks! How old is the visitor exactly? I am trying to decide on the best comprehensive insurance plans for 3 visitors of following ages: 62 yr old female 63 yr old male 35 yr old male Thanks! In your case, the following comprehensive coverage plans would provide the acute onset of pre-existing conditions coverage: Liaison Continent Insurance - $25,000 Age less than 70 years Patriot Platinum America Insurance - $20,000 Age less than 65 years Liaison International Insurance - $15,000 Age less than 70 years The probability of something getting covered or not under acute onset of pre-existing conditions is practically the same in all of the above policies. Please let us know if you have any other questions. I have the same question, but the person is 80 years old. Is there any plan for this range that would cover heart attack like situation?
