Q:Hi- My wife, son and I work in Uganda and are citizens of the US. 3 of our daughters are living and schooling in the US. We would like to purchase health insurance for all of us. Can you help us? We are all American citizens and maintain residency in the US but Martha, Bobby and I work overseas. It might be best if I answer like this: (me)- 59, live in Uganda, will travel to US for 6 weeks this summer. Will be fundraising for the ngo we work for but will be based in NJ. wife- 59-lives in Uganda but will be teaching in US for 2 months this summer in Philly. son- 24- works with me in Uganda but will travel for 6 weeks with me to US this summer daughter- 22-in university in US- lives in Philly. daughter- 20- in university in US- visiting us in Uganda now but will return with us to US on July 24. Attends Rowan U in S Jersey. daughter- 19- finishing culinary arts program in France and will return to US on pet 1. Will probably settle in Philly near her sisters. We have insurance from my last employer who kept me on as a consultant. Our consultancy ends on June 30 but I can continue on their policy on COBRA or get my own.

A:
For you, your wife, and son we would recommend the Patriot America Plus. This plan is for US citizens visiting the US for a short time. Since the three of you will be returning to Uganda then you can purchase this plan For your daughters that will be in Philly they can go with a short term domestic These are all short term options. If your daughters need long term solutions then you might need to check with their schools. Short term plans are not ACA compliant and do not cover pre-existing conditions, preventative care, or routine maintenance. Plans will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:Hello, I am an American citizen living abroad. I have lived in Rwanda the past 5 years. My husband and I are about to have our first child this August. Most basic medical treatment is available here, but I am looking specifically for major medical insurance for our child. From all prenatal appointments, he is set to be a healthy child, this is simply planning for worst case scenario, the kind you hope you never face. There are basically three categories of major medical care that we would need to travel abroad for: heart surgery, transplant of any kind, and cancer of any form. I am looking just for a major medical plan, and if possible, just for our child. Also, I'm willing to furnish any proof of his good health throughout pregnancy, and, presumably at birth. Right now, I'm just trying to get a basic idea of what's available and what cost we are looking at. HIghest deductible would be best as we would not use this for minor medical procedures.

A:
There is no plan on the market that you can purchase that will work for this. Most plans will start coverage only after the child is a couple of weeks old and if there is already a situation that you want taken care of in the US the plan would not cover it since it would have been existing at birth. Plans will not cover pre-existing conditions. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:My 17 year old daughter will spend one year as a foreign exchange student in the Columbus Academy high school in Columbus / Ohio starting from 20 August 2018. We are living in Warsaw Poland. Would it be possible to buy student medical insurance for my daughter in your company for the period starting from 15 August 2018 - 30 June 2019? I have doubt as your website quite clearly refer to foreign students of colleges and universities.
