Q:Dear Sir or Madam, I am a postgraduate student from Poland and I will be visiting the Stanford University as a Visitor Student Researcher (arriving with J-1 visa). I would like to purchase an insurance policy for the six-month internship in US. There are specific requirements and all of them need to be fulfilled. Moreover, insurance company needs to sign a compliance form. Could you please provide me with some plans that meet all the requirements? Insurance policy must cover the entire period of November 1 through April 30 with benefits that meet or exceed the following minimum standards: - An annual deductible less than $1,000 USD (I'd prefer less or no deductible) - Lifetime aggregate maximum benefit of at least $2,000,000 USD OR a maximum per condition/per lifetime benefit of $500,000 USD. - Coverage for inpatient and outpatient medical care in the San Francisco Bay Area and the U.S. - Coverage for inpatient and outpatient mental health care in the San Francisco Bay Area and the U.S. - Prescription drug coverage. - Coverage for non-emergency as well as emergency care. - Coverage for pre-existing conditions or you have met applicable waiting periods. - Minimum coverage of $25,000 USD for repatriation of remains and $50,000 USD for medical evacuation. - The policy must be backed by the full faith and credit of your home country government or the company providing the insurance must meet minimum rating requirements established by DOS (an A. M. Best rating of "A-" or above, an Insurance Solvency International, Ltd. (ISI) rating of "A-" or above, a Standard & Poor's Claims-paying Ability rating of "A-" or above, or a Weiss Research, Inc. rating of B+ or above). The compliance form can be found on Stanford's website: https://vaden.stanford.edu/sites/default/files/insurance-coverage-certification_fy18_0.pdf Yours faithfully, Andrzej Sokolowski

Q:Hi, I am interested in buying travel insurance from your company but I am afraid I'm going to make a mistake. I read online that your company provides insurance to US citizens who live abroad and are going to visit the US. I currently live in Thailand and I am going home to visit my family for only the month of October. I am unsure of what plan to purchase that will cover me (a us citizen) while I am in the United States. Thank you!

A:
We have the Patriot America Plus insurance plan that can cover a U.S. citizen who lives abroad here in the U.S. while visiting. At the top of the page, you will notice an orange quotes and purchase button. You can run a quote by entering your specific dates of travel and other information. Then if you decide you do want to purchase, you can do so through the link online or call us and we can help you purchase over the phone. If you have any questions, please let us know and we would be glad to assist.

Q:My name is Saba, I am an American citizen left the US since Oct.,6th, 2016. I have a medical condition that I have to do polypectomy and colonoscopy each year and if I did not do it, it's going to be very dangerous for my health and can develops into cancer. Please, I'm seeking for help and I need answers to my following questions: - Do you help providing travel health insurance even for just a limited time? - What plans do you have for lower cost? - Is there any restrictions regarding my eligibility to have a medical insurance just because I'm overseas? - Do you provide any assistance other than health insurance?

A:
We do offer insurance for the US Citizens who live abroad and come to the US for a short period of time. However, there is no short term plan for the US Citizen whose home country is outside the US and visiting the US for a short time, that will provide coverage for any pre-existing condition or preventative care. Insurance will pay for new injuries, new sickness after the effective date of the policy. Please see the link below for further clarification for eligibility of the insurance.
