Q: I am looking to buy medical insurance for my mother who is visiting from India for 6 months. She is 84 years old.

A:
We would be glad to assist. We do have a plan for someone visiting the U.S. (traveling on a B2 visitor visa), that we would recommend for your mother's age. The plan we would recommend is the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan. This is a comprehensive plan that offers the highest policy maximum available to this age group of $50,000.

Q:Will Atlas America also cover non US countries? My father will be in Dubai from from March 16th for March 27th. Is there an insurance which will cover US and Dubai?

A:
Yes, the plan recommended, Atlas America will cover someone anywhere outside their home country. Therefore, your father will have coverage anywhere outside his country of residence. Keep in mind that all plans on the market for visitors cover for new illnesses and new injuries that occur or manifest after the effective date. They do not cover things that are preventative, routine, or pre-existing. Some plans do include Acute onset benefits of pre-existing conditions and I have attached the information link below to explain that benefit option: Acute Onset FAQ The Atlas America plan does include acute onset benefits for anyone 79 or younger. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I was actually looking for a travel medical insurance company to apply for a visa to study in Poland. I am based in Cameroon and according to the requirements I need an insurance that covers the entire period of my studies which is 3 years ( 36 months and two days). It's a bachelor program beginning next March. I was wondering if your insurance company has such a package.

A:
We would be glad to assist. We do have a policy called Patriot International that meets the Schengen requirements and therefore the Polish visa requirements. If your school or sponsor has additional requirements, we can review those for you as well. That plan will allow you to purchase it for one year, and then renew a second year. After that 2 year time period, you would just repurchase for the remaining year. If you have to show 3 full years of coverage all at once, you can purchase 3 individual plans for each year all at one time. If you have additional questions, or need any assistance, please let us know.

Q:I am 71 years old. Coming to US in October this year for a two week vacation. I was diagnosed with AF two years ago. It is very well controlled on drugs. The episodes are few and I have not needed to go to the emergency room. My family are concerned about me travelling to the US with travel insurance that will not cover this condition. Is your plan something that would cover an acute onset that the drugs did not control?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The situation would have to meet the definition of an Acute onset of a pre-existing condition in order for the plan to provide coverage. This would be determined by the claims department based on the medical records sent by the attending Physician. Please be advised that someone with AF is expected to have problems therefore would most likely not meet the Acute onset definition. Please see the FAQ below as this may help to answer additional questions regarding the benefit. Acute Onset FAQ
