Q:I would like to purchase visitor care and plan on visiting the US twice: first, for one month from October to November. second for 1 month in January. I would like to return to my home country in between these periods. Will my insurance remain for that time, or expire when I leave? Also I tried to apply for the visitor care, but the options did not have my home country-Nigeria listed? Why is that?

A:
For Visitors Care plan you can't have coverage in your home country and it's single trip insurance. So you need to buy two policies. If you are from Nigeria, please contact us and we'll can help you.

Q:I am a South African citizen and my wife is a US citizen. We have a 11 week old baby who will have US citizen in a few weeks. We plan on immigrating to the United states in June 2017 as I have just had my IR-1 immigrant visa (green card) approved.. We will stay for about a month and a half in New Hampshire before moving on to our final destination, Honolulu. I need to have my wife and baby covered during our time that we travel from South Africa to our final destination plus a little more to be on the safe side. Let's say for about 3 months to be safe. I am not looking for coverage for myself, or do you also cover non-US citizens? Please assist me with this or direct me to the relevant department.

A:
You need to do separate application for US citizen and Non US citizen. You can take Patriot America Plus plan for you. Patriot America Plus you can have as long as you are not eligible to purchase insurance from domestic insurance company. For your wife and daughter you can purchase domestic short term insurance.

Q:My mother will be visiting me march 2017. Her stay will be flexible but will be about 4-6 months long. She is a Canadian citizen but for the last 3 years has been residing in India. She is 82 years old. I need to know the best insurance plan I can get for her. I cannot afford something very expensive. Please help me

A:
There are several plans that would work for your mother as a Canadian citizen visiting the United States. There are 2 types of plans that are offered on the Insubuy website. Fixed and comprehensive plans, the fixed coverage plans will be less expensive but will offer less overall coverage in the event of something happening as they pay fixed amount according to a schedule of benefits. The comprehensive plans will be more costly but they will provide a more robust coverage and will work closer in relation to a domestic insurance as far as the way it will pay. Please read the Fixed Coverage FAQ about the risks of purchasing fixed coverage plan. Please read the Comprehensive Coverage FAQ about the benefits of purchasing a comprehensive plan. You can find eligible plan in out Visitors to the USA section.
