Q:Hi, is there any visitor's insurance that covers pre-existing conditions? Thanks.

A:
Visitors Protect is the only plan that offers coverage for pre-existing conditions, but it still cannot be known or expected treatment. It also has a 90 day minimum purchase and $1500 deductible built into the plan for anything relating to a pre-existing condition. Additionally, it must be purchased before the insured has left their home country. Other plans do offer the Acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Q:Dear sir/madamI am currently in the process of arranging insurance coverage for my J1 visa program, which is expected to last for 2 years. I am a 33-year-old from Iran, planning to do my program at Temple University in Philadelphia. My organization requires a full coverage insurance plan for the entire duration of my program. However, upon visiting your website, I noticed that the maximum duration offered for insurance plans is 12 months.I am reaching out to inquire if there is a solution to extend the coverage period beyond the 12-month limit to meet the requirements of my program.additionally, I was wondering if it is possible to change the start and end dates of the coverage in case of a delayed visa procedure. Thank you for your consideration and assistance.

A:
Due to your home country being Iran, and your status as a J1 visa holder we will not have any plans available to you. If you have any additional questions please call our office at 1(866) INSUBUY (4678289).

Q:Through InsuBuy, I purchased a Visitors Care Platinum Plan (by IMG) for me and my spouse. Does this meet Stanford University's J1/J2 visa requirements ?

A:
No, this plan will not meet the standard J1 visa requirements. To insure that a plan will meet the standard requirements for J1 visa holders you can run a quote in Exchange Visitors (J1/J2) section. Stanford University does have additional specific requirements that students need to meet to be able to waive the school mandated insurance. There is only one plan that will meet those requirements called StudentSecure Elite. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:Can you tell me the closest urgent care facilities close to 9**** that I can visit and avail direct billing

A:
You may use this insurance at any provider or UrgentCare of your choosing as this plan does not have a PPO network of providers. It will always be up to the provider whether to bill the insurance company or the patient directly. You can see how a Fixed Plan works, as well as direct billing, by viewing our Fixed Plans FAQ. If you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:Hey there, Im not sure whether youll be able to advise but Im getting rather desperate. I need to purchase short term medical insurance cover for an international exchange to the US. The applicant will be 29 years old, male, UK resident, German citizen, and is due to study for 6 weeks at Stanford University, so coverage will be required for around 60 days. Stanford has a default health insurance plan, called Cardinal Care, that students are automatically enrolled it. However, our plan would be to try and waive the university provided insurance in favour of a short term plan thats more financially manageable. Here are the requirements for waiving Cardinal Care1. Annual deductible less than 1,000 USD2. Lifetime aggregate maximum benefits of at least 2,000,000 USDOR2. Maximum per conditioner lifetime benefit of at least 500,000 USD3. Covers inpatient and outpatient medical care in the San Francisco Bay Area in the U.S.4. Covers inpatient and outpatient mental health care in the San Francisco Bay Area in the U.S. 5. Covers prescription 6. Covers nonemergency as well as emergency care7. Policy covers preexisting conditions I admit I find it extremely difficult to judge whether any short term insurance plan I can find online would be able to cover these requirements even with asterisks where appropriate. Any advice or pointers towards finding one would be be very much appreciated.

A:
We do have one plan that will meet those requirements. It is called StudentSecure Elite. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
