Q:I'm interested in the Patriot Exchange Program. I wanted to clarify further the plan details. 1. PPO - is FirstHealth, right? And the administrator is IMG? 2. Pre-existing conditions - I had my ACL reconstructed before. May I ask what types of scenarios can I have this covered? If I tweak it again from playing recreational sports, would that fall under an acute onset of this condition?

A:
The Patriot Exchange Program does use the First Health PPO Network. To determine whether or not a pre-existing condition would be covered under the acute onset coverage would be determined at the time of the claim. The claims department would need the attending physicians notes to review. There is the possibility that coverage could be offered in this scenario.

Q:Can you help me out with both ski for leisure and for professional purposes? Because right now it's leisure but maybe I'll turn it into professional I don't know yet. My age is 22. VISA is F-1 with working authorization. State is Oregon. (And maybe California)

A:
There are no plans that will cover skiing for professionally.

Q:My family is visiting me from India and will be staying with me in Seattle, USA. The dates of their travel are June 3 to June 26, 2019. I need a plan with coverage of acute onset of pre-existing conditions for my mother and father. For everyone else, I need a basic reliable plan which protects me in case of any emergency (fractures, accidents, sickness). Please suggest a plan for my family and send quotes.

A:
We have emailed the quotes for group plans. If you would like separate plans we can send those as well. We would recommend either Patriot America Plus Group or Atlas America Group to include the Acute Onset benefit.

Q:I have processed my application online till review stage but unable to know how much is the deductible. I am interested in buying medical insurance with following J Visa requirements: Medical coverage of at least $1,00,000/- per person per accident or illness, Repatriation of remains in the amount of $25,000/-, Medical evacuation benefits of at least $50,000 and A deductible that does not exceed $500. I want to know whether emergency medical evacuation and repatriation insurance cater to J-visa requirements as listed above.

A:
Those are standard requirements so you can choose any plan in the J1 section of our website for time here in the United States as a J1 visa holder. You can take a look at theExchangeGuard Plans.

Q:I will be a visiting scholar (J1 Visa) in Rutgers University. But, they require a health insurance for issuing the DS-2019 which is required for visa application. I looked up your insurance plans, however I couldn't be sure whether they meet the requirements of Rutgers University which I listed below. Currently I have a B1/B2 visa and I have acceptance letter from the professor I will be studying together. I'm looking for a monthly payment plan. RUTGERS UNIV REQUIREMENTS FOR INSURANCE -The plan offers unlimited coverage with no maximum dollar limit - Plan deductible does not exceed $500 out of network per policy year - Plan provides coverage for inpatient and outpatient medical care in the immediate campus area. - Plan provides mental health benefits which include chemical and substance abuse treatments. - Plan provide preventative care services which include, but are not limited to, annual physicals, GYN exams, routine screenings and immunizations. - Plan covers pre-existing conditions. - Plan covers prescription drugs with no maximum dollar limit and a nationwide network of pharmacies. Plan must not be a reimbursement plan. - The plan is provided by a company with a US claims payment office and a US phone number. - Plan must be filed and approved in the United States and fully compliant with the Affordable Care Act Benefit Regulations - Plan must pay medical providers directly for inpatient and outpatient care (must not be a reimbursement plan). - The underwriting company must have a rating of either "A" or above by A.M. Best, "A-1" or above by Insurance Solvency International Ltd., "A -" or above by Standard & Poor's Claims-paying Ability, "B +" or above by Weiss Research, Inc.

A:
Unfortunately, the plans available to purchase outside of the university are not going to meet these requirements. You would need to purchase the schools insurance if available.
