Q:Hi,I saw that my policy has a well visit benefit. But it says it needs to be within 21 days of purchase. Now my policy is at 29 days and just renewed. Do I need to let the coverage lapse and buy new to get the regular health check up/well doctor visit benefit? If I do lapse the coverage to get the benefit, will this cause any problem(s)?

A:
The wellness visit benefit available in the Safe Travels USA Cost Saver plan. The benefit can allow up to $125 for the well visit as long as it follows the protocol and instructions listed. It would be recommended to continue your active coverage and pay out of pocket for the well visit if you are needing it. However, if you wish to cancel the coverage and repurchase, you may do so as well. Keep in mind the plans will only offer the coverage for the new illnesses and injuries that are contracted after the effective date. The plans exclude the coverage for pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. Should anything currently be going on and you were to cancel the coverage and repurchase, it would not allow coverage for the things going on under the current coverage. Q:Hi I have been in contact with one of the confirmed covid 19 person. I want to get tested. Is that covered in my policy and what is the procedure to avail it at cvs?

A:
If you go to get a test, you would need to pay for the test out of pocket. The plans will not cover that type of testing. The plans will only cover for medically necessary testing, meaning if someone is ill and they go to a Dr., and based on the person's symptoms a Dr. decides to recommend a test could it be covered. Coming into contact with someone who has Covid does not make getting tested medically necessary. Even contracting it does not. You would have to actually become ill for it to be a medical issue and covered under a medical plan. If you have additional questions, please let us know.
