Q:Pre-existing condition question osteoporosis My mom plans to visit me for a few months from India. She has osteoporosis, but no existing fractures. If she breaks her bone during the visit, will the insurance cover the condition ? Thanks

A:
In general, insurance will pay for new sickness, injuries or accident that may occur after the insurance eff. date. However, Some plan provides acute onset of pre-ex up to age 89yrs.. It will be determined by claim dept. based on the attending physician note whether it comes under acute onset of pre-ex or not. General rule for acute onset of pre-existing conditions, /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ Please review this and before we suggest any plan would like to know her age. You can find plans at www.insubuy.com Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare the side by side. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Q:Which states visitors insurance will cover? Hello, I want to buy visitor insurance for my Dad. He will travel in Florida, Ohio and California. I don't know which should I choose when I fill destination state in travel information. If I only choose one state, will the insurance cover all other two states? Thanks.

A:
When choosing a state you go by the mailing address state. So if your mailing address is in Florida you use Florida as the state. The plans will cover everywhere in the US for visitors. If you need additional information please feel free to contact our office.

A:
Hello, Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. However, with the differing status upon you travel here into the U.S. There are plans that you be able to have a visitor into the united States that will not be available once you switch to a F1 visa holder. This plan will not cover any pre-existing conditions or preventative care for a visitor. The acute onset coverage included within the plan is in case of a life threating emergency. Please see the link listed below for more information about an acute onset. If you need any further clarification please feel free to contact our office. Acute Onset FAQ: /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ Thank you. Could you please advise about which plan should I buy to cover my daughter case? As I don't want to be at risk during my visit . Regards, With your current status as a visitor to the U.S. there are no plans on the market which would cover a pre-existing condition for a visitor with the exception of an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. Once you are on an F1 you may purchase a plan from the students section of our website which would cover pre-existing conditions but there will also be either a 6 or 12 month waiting period dependent upon which plan you select. F1/F2 visa insurance at, /international-student-medical-insurance/ You may also contact our office at (866) INSUBUY. If you have any additional questions please let us know. Just to conclude my understanding, my dependent children will not be covered from the pre-existing conditions during our stay, even if I got the F1 visa as they will have f2. If I am wrong, please redirect me to a specific insurance plan to buy it. Thanks In obtaining an F2 visa status you would be eligible for your Universities insurance which would typically be a domestic insurance and that would cover her condition. Or you would be eligible for student plan that will have 6-12 months waiting period for pre-existing conditions. Then there a limited to the coverage provided for the pre-existing condition. Please find student insurance at, /international-student-medical-insurance/
