Q:Is there any difference between 'per policy period' and 'per certificate period' in insurance terms of Atlas Exchange. For 'per certificate period' I need to understand if renewal of policy beyond six months will carry forward my deductible.

A:
There is one deductible for a continuous policy up to one year.

Q:For Atlas exchange with 100% coverage, can you please confirm that I will have to pay nothing beyond a deductible of $250 for my medical needs, excepting that my bills overshoot the upper limit of $100,000.

A:
We cannot confirm that you won't have to pay anything beyond the deductible since that will be determined at the time of the claim. The plan will pay 100% for covered medical expenses unless there is a benefit limit in the certificate wording. The plan will cover for any new illness or injury and will not cover pre-existing conditions, preventative care, or routine maintenance.

Q:Looking for the healthcare plan for my mother, who recently become a green card holder. She is 62 year old and will be arriving to the USA on Feb 20, 2017. She will be Permanent resident of NJ state. A few years ago she had the Atrial fibrillation, but was treated and prescribe the pills which is she is taken on regular bases. Please let me know if you have the health plan for her.

A:
Unfortunately, there is no short term plan which covers routine maintenance for her existing conditions. Insurance will pay for any new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the eff. Date of the policy. However, it provides coverage for an acute onset of pre-ex. Please find more information on acute onset of pre-ex below: Acute Onset FAQ You can purchase Patriot America Plus plan until she get social security number. After that you can enroll her under Obama Care plan. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:In Atlas Essential America health plan, I have two questions; 1. IF the deductible is per policy period and I initially buy it for three months and renew it for another three months, would the deductible carried forward ? 2. Who actually provides insurance 'Insubuy' or some other company?

A:
The deductible in the Atlas Essential America plan is per policy period. The deductible will carry forward for the maximum amount of time that the plan is renewable which is 364 days. So the deductible is valid for the life time of the policy. Insubuy is a broker, we are not an insurance company so we do not have any dealings with day to day claims. We simply market and sell insurance products from select companies.

Q:I am in the US for more than 2 years. I am on OPT. My 12 Months OPT is over and now on 24 Month extension. I live in NJ and looking for an insurance. I am looking for $100,000 max coverage and $0 deductible. Can you please send me a list of hospitals where cashless facilities are available? I do not have insurance currently and my employer does not offer it.

A:
There is a plan called Atlas Exchange that we would recommend based upon your needs and your lack of previous insurance. Some plans require you to have had prior insurance so you would be disqualified from some plan available. The plans are designed to cover new accidents and new illness that occur after the effective date of the policy. So if the proposed insured is sick or injured prior to the effective date of this policy it will automatically be excluded from the policy. Please be advised that typically in network providers will bill directly but that is at the discretion of the provider. Here is a helpful FAQ about "cashless" insurance in the United States.
