Q:I have a friend who is traveling from Nicaragua to Panama on a chartered plane of Avianca. He and his wife are required to take the PCR(?) test the day before flying which is scheduled for Nov 15th...test on the 14th. Total cost to fly is 800 each. Is there coverage available for both if only one of them tests positive? He asked if I knew of any provider that offers this specific benefit?

A:
Unfortunately, the only type of insurance available that would allow coverage in this case would be under a Cancel for Any Reason benefit. This type of benefit would only be available for US Residents. However, if you are looking for medical coverage that would include COVID-19 as any other new illness should it manifest after the effective date of the plan, we have numerous plans that would offer such coverage. You may find those plans here. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance you may call our office at (866) 467-8289.
