Q:Dear Sir or Madam,I am a German citizen who will do an internship in New York starting from April 2023 with an international organization. I will therefore require a G4 visa. I am confused as to whether there is a requirement to obtain medical insurance for this visa and if so, which medical insurance plans fulfill these requirements. If you could recommend such plan to me or provide me with further information, I would be very delighted.Thank you very much in advance.

A:
We first recommend to contact the consulate since insurance requirements can change on a daily basis. Once you do feel free to contact an agent with your requirements and they would be happy to show you all the plans available.

Q:Hi, I have applied for my mom green card and waiting for green card. Can my mom qualify for new immigration specific plan or need to stick to visitors visa. I already have visitors visa which will expire on 1st Jan and i can renew but have to get a new one so instead of vistors visa can i get new immigrant specific plan for my mom.thanks

A:
You may repurchase the Safe Travels Elite plan as long as they insured hasn't been in the US for more than 1 year. An alternative option is the Visitors Care or the Patriot America Plus. These plans will cover your mother until her green card application is approved. Once the green card application is approved, you may purchase a domestic insurance through your state's healthcare exchange.

Q:Hi, I currently have PEP insurance. I want to add dental cover - and I looked at the Careington Dental plan. Please advise if removal of wisdom teeth is covered in the plan as I am not familiar with the medical terms used in the Schedule.

A:
Careington is a dental discount plan and not an insurance. The dental schedule shows discounts for Oral Surgery services. The amount that you would pay depends on the state in which you reside. You can view the discounts avaialble with the plan in your state here: /dental-vision-plan/dental-schedule/ However we cannot advise on dental codes. You would want to consult with a dental provider in your area who accepts the Careington Discount plan and confirm what codes would be used for wisdom teeth removal. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
