Q:Eligibility for reside blue insurance To whom it may concern I am a South African citizen and I am currently working on a private motor yacht in the Caribbean, I would like to find out if i am eligible for the reside blue insurance plan.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Yes, you are eligible for Reside Blue insurance. Reside Blue brochure, instant purchase and other useful information, /marine-crew-health-insurance/ Please review this plan and if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us. Thank you for the reply I have one further question regarding hazardous sports. I am a PADI scuba diving instructor and have diving liability insurance which shouldn't influence the health insurance. I am how ever a member of Divers Alert Network(DAN) and i do currently have an insurance policy with them which only covers me if i am involved in a diving related injury. Does reside blue consider diving a hazardous sport even if i do it professionally? and would my DAN membership have any influence on the reside blue health insurance? I look forward to your reply. Kind regards If you are PADI certified, it is not considered to be a hazardous sport. You can purchase the Reside Blue plan, but we would encourage you to keep your DAN policy, due to the following exclusion: Injury sustained while taking part in flying in any aircraft being used for or in connection with acrobatic or stunt flying, racing, endurance tests, rocket-propelled aircraft, crop dusting or seeding or spraying, fire fighting, exploration, pipe or power line inspection, any form of hunting or herding, aerial photography, banner towing or any experimental purpose, kite surfing, mountaineering where ropes or guides are normally used, hang gliding, parachuting, bungee jumping, racing by any animal or motor or motorcycle, rodeo, snowmobiling, skiing/boarding by snow (except for recreational downhill and/or cross country skiing) or water, potholing or caving, whitewater rafting, scuba diving, involving underwater breathing apparatus - unless PADI, NAUI, YMCA, SSI or PDIC certified, and i.) Diving without properly maintained, appropriate, working diving equipment; ii.) any diving below 40 meters; iii.) any type of cave diving; iv.) solo diving; v.) any air travel within 24 hours of diving or any diving within 10 hours of any air travel; vi.) diving by any Insured Person(s) under the age of 12 or over the age of 65; vii.) diving while suffering any Illness causing an obstruction to the sinuses or ears or diving while medically unfit to dive; viii.) Treatment of any condition that worsens or requires additional Treatment due to diving. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Q:Atlas America Visitor's Insurance I am not a current customer but I had a question about the Atlas America Visitor's Insurance. I'm not entirely sure if this is the place for me to ask a question but it's the only thing I found where I can ask. I am considering purchasing visitor's insurance for about a year. However, what I'd like to know is whether the insurance helps with prescription drugs if it is an existing prescription? There are certain medications I have to keep filled while I'm out of the country but I don't see anything that specifically states the prescriptions can or can't be existing ones. So I was wondering how that worked exactly.

A:
Prescription medicines needed for ongoing pre-existing condition medical conditions are NOT covered. I suggest that you bring enough supplies with you from your home country or pay for it yourself in the U.S.

Q:Visitor Medical Insurance Following is the insurance quotes I have for my parents visit. / Off the many - the agent recommended two - the basic one (the first on the list) - you can turn on limited preexisting and it will give you a different quote (the very first plan). Then if you scroll down there is a comprehensive one (one they recommend - off course its more expensive) but more secure even for non existing conditions. The costs are for the total duration not monthly rates.Let me know if you have any feedback - I dont get most of the lingo or what the agent was explaining. No hurry

A:
Hope things are fine at ur end. Below is a quote for one if my friends parents. He was given 2 quote and seems to be big difference. Which one would you recommended. Other question he has was, how you heard about complains that claim was rejected via this type of insurance. If you could reply all, appreciate it. Hello, 1. I believe that he is referring to the fixed vs comprehensive coverage types of plans: Fixed vs comprehensive. /visitors-insurance/ Fixed coverage: Example: Inbound USA Fixed coverage plans pay a fixed amount for each and every procedure and you will have to pay the difference beyond that yourself. For example, if you take $50,000 coverage with $50 deductible, you will have to pay $50 per every sickness/accident, then the plan pays $55/dr visit, $330/er visit, $3,300/surgery etc. As you can see, those amounts are highly inadequate and therefore, we don't recommend such coverage. Comprehsnve Coverage: Example: Atlas America It does not have the sub-limits such as in Inbound USA. E.g., if you take $50,000 coverage with $250 deductible, you will have to pay $250 deductible once for the whole duration, then as long as you go to the providers in the PPO network and they bill directly, it pays 100% to the policy maximum. Otherwise, it pays 80/20 to $5,000 then 100% to the policy maximum. This is the type of insurance we always recommend to everyone. Personally, both I, him and some of his other friends have always purchased only the comprehensive plans for the parents, in-laws etc. and never the fixed coverage. 2. Insurance companies would pay for all eligible claims. However, it is a medical fact that for elderly people, there would be some conditions that would clearly ineligible and not covered. That is the same across all the plans. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. Thank you for your clarification. I will go ahead and purchase your comprehensive plan for my parents. Please let me know when is a good time to call and buy the same and what else will be required - I have the DOB's and the Passport number of my parents. Thank you so much for providing this invaluable service. Best regards, You can call us at any time during office hours. You can talk with anyone in our office. Their exact names would be required as well. You can also purchase it online through the link you were sent. (Click on 'Purchase' button.)

Q:Questions regarding International Major Medical Insurance I would like your advice on a potential purchase of insurance through your website. I've spoken to a couple of your agents already and they've been helpful but a few doubts remain for me. First, my parents are 80 and 81. They will be visiting the US from India for 40 days starting Sept 1, 2011. My mother has high blood pressure which I understand will be viewed as a pre-existing condition. My goal is to cover them for anything unexpected and unrelated to the pre-existing condition. I've been advised by your agents that International Major Medical is probably my best option. 1) I understand that International Major Medical is a new plan. I would love to see some customer feedback about this plan, but your agent tells me that because of the newness of the plan, there are no reviews available yet. I would appreciate your frank feedback as to whether this is a good plan and whether they fairly and promptly adjudicate their claims. 2) If for any reason my parents change their plans at the last minute and do not come at all, I am told that I cannot get a refund of the premium for this plan. Why is this the case? Is there any help you can offer here? 3) I am also told that the plan is not renewable? I would much prefer a plan that is renewable in case they decide to extend their trip. The only other option offered was WorldMed which is much more expensive. Your advice? Thanks in advance for your reply,

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing international major medical insurance (IMMI). Please be assured that we as a broker work for you, and not for any insurance company. We always suggest you the plan that would best suit your requirements to the extent possible. However, for 80+ age, there is not much choice or flexibility available. 1. It is exactly not very new plan. It has been around for some time. However, we recently added that in our quoting engine. (Due to its different pricing structure, however, we could not provide the quotes on our web site in the comparison itself. That was the reason we didn't add that until recently in our quoting engine.) Yes, it is a good plan. Please note that most people never both to inform us if everything is going smoothly. People contact us only when they have a problem. And so far, we have not received any complaints about it. That should be considered as good news. 2. That is correct. Once you purchase the plan, there is no refund. That is the rule insurance company decided to make for this product. Unfortunately, we are unable to change that rule, unless they change it for everyone in future. 3. That is correct. The plan is not renewable. If they extend their trip, you can purchase the same plan again. Anything that occured within the previous duration would be considered as pre-existing condition and not covered. WorldMed has severe limitations even for the new medical conditions. IMMI does not have those many restrictions. We continue to pursuade them to try to make it renewable/refundable, but until that happens, it is neither refundable or nor renewable. That may never happen. Overall, IMMI is the best plan you could purchase for that age. You can purchase it online at If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. appreciate your prompt and clear response. A few more questions: 1) Is there any insurance you offer in this age-range that will cover pre-existing conditions? I've seen some websites (like kvrao) that claim to provide this, though it looks to me like the coverage is very limited. I know kvrao is a competitor but are you familiar with them? 2) Is IMMI clearly a comprehensive coverage plan? Are there any exceptions? I found out luckily through your agents for example that Diplomat America has a $1000 max for the first month! 3) How long has Insubuy been in business? After the sale, will I have your willing and ready support if there is a problem with a legitimate claim? Thanks for your help. 1. There is no plan for that age that would cover pre-existing conditions. 2. I suggest you read the brochure at /international-major-medical/travel-insurance/ Cardiac and cancer related conditions are covered at $25,000 max. If the person never had a history of those, they can be increased to policy max, at additional price. 3. Insubuy, LLC. was incorporated on December 27, 2000. Yes, we are available before, during and after the sale to help you with any service related or claim related matter you need help with. We as a broker, work for you, not for the insurance company. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Based on our discussions last week, I have decided to purchase the IMM insurance for my parents and went on your website to do so. I completed all the questions about each of my parents health situation and received two emails from 'Jimmy Petersen' giving me links to follow to purchase the insurance. I went through these links to try to complete the process, but the problem is that everything is in my parent's name and there is no place to put in a different name for billing than the insured person's name. We are paying for my parents' insurance with my husband's credit card. When and how can we enter a different name for the credit-card payment than the name of the insured? Please let me know asap how to proceed since I want the insurance to be effective on 9/1/11. Thanks. Billing information is not needed. Just enter the credit card number, expiration date etc. Please let me know if you have any further questions regarding this. But isn't it a problem that the name on the credit card is never asked for? Will the charge go through just based on the number? Usually name on credit card and number are both required, aren't they? I agree that most places ask for the name on the credit card. However, that depends upon how each company's credit card processing system is set up. I double checked with PIU and they said it is fine to just enter the information that is asked for and as long as it goes through, it is fine. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Does this mean that cardiac and cancer should not have been one of the pre existing conditions? That's right.

Q:Travel Insurance Hello, I am a Canadian traveling to East Africa from Sept, 2011 and Jan, 2012. I plan on going white water rafting on the Nile and climbing Mt Kilimanjaro (5895m). I received the following quote (see below) from your website (International Insurance with the Sports Rider). I have read the policy online and realize that this policy will cover the usual medical expenses and with the Sports Rider, I will be covered for anything that occurs due to these activities, eg. altitude sickness. I have a couple additional questions about the Sports Rider. 1) Does it include high-altitude (ie >4500 m) hiking? 2) Does it include emergency air evacuation from high altitude if required? This would be inititated PRIOR to any consultation with the insurance company (ie. to transport me to a hospital or clinic for emergency treatment)? I appreciate hearing your response. Cheers,

A:
Both of the conditions/activities listed below would be covered with the Hazardous Sports Riderâ€"the air transport from high altitude would pertain to the local ambulance benefit. However, please note the AD& D benefit would be deleted for the items listed in A-J on the Hazardous Sports Rider's declaration page (15). You can purchase it online at /mount-kilimanjaro-travel-insurance/ If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
