Q:Dental insurance for visitors to USA Hi, Do any of the Patriot America or Atlas cover dental needs? If sudden toothache develops, will they cover it? If not, what are the available options for dental? Only to be used if there is some sudden tooth pain that needs to be handled. Do people usually pay for this sort of things out of pocket and we dont need insurance?

A:
Both plans cover up to $100 for sudden unexpected too pain to sound and natural teeth. They cover up to policy maximum for injury to teeth in an accident. Please read /dental-coverage-in-visitors-insurance/ for further details. For any meaningful dental coverage, look at CAREINGTON at /individual-family-dental-plans/ It is $12/month for family and one time application fee of $20. Please read /dental-coverage-in-visitors-insurance/ to understand dental coverage in visitors insurance.

A:
We sell many different insurance products from many companies and for a wide variety of people. Therefore, I would require more details before I can further guide you to choose the best plan for you and give premiums and other details. I live in Wellsboro, PA 16901, Tioga County. We have medical insurance, therefore only requiring Dental insurance. I do not know what Dentists in my area will take this insurance, so please look for one in the surrounging 50 mile area. We need all areas of dental assistance, ie: braces, extractions, fillings, etc. I hope that this is enough info for you to quote induvidual and family prices, both monthly and yearly. Thank you, You can look at CAREINGTON at /individual-family-dental-plans/ It is $12/month for family and one time application fee of $20. There are great prices, but do you have a list of participating dentists in my area? You can find at /dental-vision-plan/provider-network/ Can you please provide me too with the list of dentists in Florida that would be a great help and some of their insurance plans too. Q:Insurance for parents visiting Canada Hi, My parents are visiting canada for a period of about 50 days. They do not have any pre medical conditions. Please let me know a good medical insurance which is accepted at most clinics/hospitals across Canada ( specially Vancouver, British Columbia). My parents are planning to buy a Indian insurance, but I am thinking of a local insurance. Also, the premium that we pay is one time right ? Or is it montly ? PLease let me know asap. Thanks, Sunil

A:
1. There is no PPO network in Canada. PPO is an US concept. Therefore, you can visit any doctor/hospital you like. There is no restriction. 2. It is certainly better to buy from here. Please read /visitors-insurance-usa-india-comparison/ for more details. 3. In short term plans, buying and paying is one and the same thing. If you would like to buy for 4 months, you have to pay for 4 months. If you would like to pay monthly, you have to buy for one month, and renew it every month (and not all the plans allow that.) Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any other questions. Thanks for prompt reply. Can you please suggest any good medical insurance provider here in Canada for a short period like 50 days ? I just want to make sure that I do not have to pay the doctor fees always, some deductable is OK (like $100 or $200). Thanks, Sunil Look at Protection America at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ The Patriot America or Protection America are both international insurance right ? How is their exceptance in Canada ? How about the response in emergencies ? I guess location should not be much of a concern here (US or Canada). My main concern is I do not have sufficient funds. Normal doctor visit is OK, but for more expenses i'll be entirely dependent on the insurance provider. How is the medical fees paid ? Is it a direct payment to hospital/clinic ? Or I have to pay first and then claim ? Thanks, Sunil Both Patriot America and Protection America are international insurance plans. It does not really matter too much what kind of insurance you get for Canada, as it not about the insurance company, it is about the Canada. Most people who are Canadian citizens/residents get their provincial health insurance. Therefore, many places are not equipped to deal with insurance companies and may not even have the billing department. And this fact does not change no matter what insurance you purchase, as it is the fact about Canada and not about the insurance. Having said that, for Dr visit, it is up to the Dr in Canada whether to bill the insurance company directly or not. However, for major hospitalization etc, they would be much more willing to work with the insurance company because they would ultimately like to get paid. And these facts are going to remain the same (more or less) no matter what insurance you purchase. That is because, again, that is how Canada operates. Also, most of the companies we work with will send the hospital a verification of benefits and guarantee of payment, which also helps easy any concerns they have.

Q:Medical Insurace..Pre-existing condition? Hi My parents aged 75 and 74 are planning to visit US in July. My dad had a slight monocular diplopia (double vision in one eye) two weeks back. I am planning to take comprehensive coverage as advised by you in the forum. I was wondering if insurance will not cover if my dad were to have any related problem while in the US? Will this be considered as a pre-exisiting condition? When we buy insurance are we required to reveal this problem? I am really worried. Please respond as soon as possible for you.

A:
Unfortunately, that would be considered as pre-existing condition and not covered. You are not required to write any medical details when you apply for the insurance. Pre-existing conditions determination is made at the time of the claim after the treatment is already taken. However, in this case, you already know that it would be considered as pre-existing condition. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us at any time. Thank you for your quick response. Can I please bother you with two more questions. My parents have medi-claim in India. Will medi-claim cover anything related this particular problem while they are in the US - since it is not a pre-existing condition as far as Medi-claim is concerned? I can take addition insurance for them to cover things while they are here. Is it possible to take two coverages at the same time? Thank you for your help in advance. 1. As I don't deal with the insurance from India, I could tell you with 100%. But most likely, MediClaim from India would not cover anything in US. That is why people buy travel insurance. 2. N/A based on the answer #1. You should buy comprehensive from here, in the US.
