Q:I am American living in Korea. I am married to a Korean national and have a son who is a dual citizen. I will be visiting the states this summer (June 25th- July 20th) and am curious if your company will provide service for myself and my family. I looked around on the site but couldn't determine if I could get insurance for myself since I am a citizen of the states but do not live there.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. There is a plan called Patriot America Plus that your family can purchase for coverage. As your son is a dual citizen his U.S. citizenship will take precedence in the United States. Although you can all purchase the same plan yourself and child can go onto the same policy and your wife will have a separate plan as there is not a way to specify the countries of citizenship on a single policy. If you have any additional questions please contact our office.

Q:I am planning to buy travelers insurance (comprehensive plan, supporting pre-existing conditions) for my parents for 90 days (age 70 and 61 years). I'd like to know if Atlas America comprehensive plan is available for the residents of Maryland.

A:
Atlas America is available for visitors to MD as long as it's purchased before their arrival. Also, with the Atlas America the Acute Onset benefit is for 69 and younger so if one of your parents is 70 then they will not have that benefit. The plans cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date. There is no plan on the market that will cover pre-existing conditions, preventative care, or routine maintenance. The Acute Onset will cover a sudden and unexpected recurrence of a pre-existing condition. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I am attempting to purchase Atlas America of my parents who are with my in Maryland, but it is not letting me proceed. Is this plan not applicable in Maryland?

A:
If they are already located in Maryland you would be unable to proceed due to the geographic restrictions on the plan. You can consider purchasing the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive insurance plan for your parents.

Q:Looking for a comprehensive health insurance for my in law who will visit US for 87 days.. he is 78 yr old and looking for possible coverage up to 100000 Let me know if you have any insurance plan that covers acute onset of preexisting conditions for that age group. Or an insurance that do cover when needed and who use the excuse of preexisting condition not to cover. Let me know

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Insurance plans for visitors to the USA are primarily designed to cover new illnesses, injuries or accidents which occur after the effective date of the policy. There are plan options available such as the Atlas America which will provide coverage in the amount of $100,000 for your in law, but this plan will not provide the acute onset of pre-existing condition coverage for an insured past the age of 70. An additional option would the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan. This plan will provide a policy maximum of $50,000, but also will provide coverage for the acute onset of a pre-existing condition up to $25,000 for their age group. We have also included a link below to an FAQ which will provide additional information on the acute onset of pre-existing condition coverage benefit. If you have any additional questions, please let us know. You may also obtain assistance by contacting our office at (866) INSUBUY.
