Q:Renewal of insurance I purchased insurance for my husband and myself through you December last year. I am wantng to organise our insurance for next year, but would like to change some things. For example, we do not need outpatient insurance as the healthcare here is very cheap. Our major needs are hospital coverage, emergency evacuation and full birth coverage ( prenatal is very cheap here). The current premium is too high for us, is there anything you can offer. Regards

A:
There is no just inpatient plan. It covers both inpatient and outpatient. In order to reduce the premium, * You could choose higher deductible. * You could also choose the coverage excluding US/Canada. You can visit /expatriate-health-insurance/ and choose a plan most suitable to you. If you have any particular question or need any other help, please feel free to contact me at any time. Could you tell me how much it would be if we were to exclude the US and Canada. My husband is now 32 and I am 29. Thanks a lot You can look at International Citizen Premier at /expatriate-health-insurance/ Prices are Deductible - Annual Price $250 - $1687 $500 - $1537 $1000 - $1158 $2500 - $1025 $5000 - $891 I checked the website you sent but don't understand exactly how this works. Last year my coverage with RESIDE cost me $1300 and Dave's was $750, but this year for me it has increased by $800! I think that is ridiculous! Also if I take the premier rate, it excludes emergency evacuation and I have to wait another year before I am covered for pregnancy. If this is the case we will have to look for other options. We are missionaries in Cambodia who are self funded and don't have $3000 to spend on medical insurance . Are there any otehr options including emergency evacuation and pregnancy coverage. I completely understand how exactly this works. Premium in the second year is more all such plans because it covers more things such as pregnancy etc. That is the case with all the plans. Yes, IC Premier excludes emergency evacuation. However, if you like, you can buy a separate evacuation plan such as Liaison Traveler, available at /trip-cancellation-insurance/ It is NOT very expensive. Even with this combination, you will have to wait for 1 more year for pregnancy. Otherwise, continuing the same insurance (RESIDE) would be your best option. Of course, you may look for other local options in Cambodia itself. But, you don't have any better options from US. We sell insurance products all major US companies that deal with international medical insurance. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:Eligibility question I am an American Citizen married to a Turkish Citizen. I want to be sure the Platinum plan will cover both of us inside or outside of the U.S. according to my choice of care. We live most of the year in Turkey, but travel to the U.S. to visit family.

A:
I believe you are referring to Citizen Secure Insurance plan available at /expatriate-health-insurance/ It covers you everywhere in the world, including US as long as you are staying outside US more than 6 months in a given year. Please let me know if you have any other questions. I am specifically concerned that my wife, a Turkish national, be covered equally to me with this policy. (Platinum) Another question: The Global Basic coverage seems very similar to the Platinum coverage, at a much lower rate. Can you tell me what I am missing there? Thanks 1. Yes, your wife will be covered. 2. IC Platinum is a comprehensive coverage and provides full coverage. Global Basic is a fixed coverage plan and pays only a fixed amount of money for everything and you pay the difference yourself. You can visit /expatriate-health-insurance/ and compare them side by side for detailed comparison. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:Worldwide medical insurance Hello I am a US and UK citizen currently residing in Florida. In april I will be traveling to spain for 5 months, will be back in the US for a few weeks in sept, then plan to move again outside the US for 4-5 months.I am looking for a comprehensive global medical plan that will cover me worldwide (including US) since I will be in and out of the country several times a year from now on. (I will definitely be spending more than 6 months of any given year outside the US). The plan must also be renewable as i will using this as my primary insurance from now on. I would be grateful if you could recommend any particular plans for which I am eligible. I had contacted IMG recently, but I was informed that they could not insure me since I am in Florida right now and they are not licensed in that state. I am aware of other insurance companies like SRI, IHI, HCCMIS, but I think it will be better to go through an insurance broker to get the best deal and to ensure that I am eligible. A quote for each plan would also be helpful. FYI: I am male, 35 years old, no dependents or spouse. I am looking for a deductible of $1000, and premiums paid either monthly or quarterly, preferably in USD. Plan must be annually renewable. Also if there is a dental coverage option pls let me know. Any personal recommendations of one plan (or insurance provider) over another based on your own experience would also be very helpful. If you need more information please let me know. Otherwise I look forward to your quote, and any further details. Thanks alot

A:
I recommend that you visit /expatriate-health-insurance/ and enter your data. You will be able to see insurance plans various companies like IMG, HCCMIS, SRI etc. listed all one after another (You can NOT buy IMG because you are in FL.) As long as you are planning to spend less than 6 months in US, you can buy any of those plans. You will also be able to make detailed side by side comparison of several plans. You can also choose among different deductibles and payment frequencies. You can make online application of the plan you like. If you would like to purchase dental as well, I would recommend IC Platinum (HCCMIS) as it has dental rider. I hope that answers all your questions. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks & Regards Thanks very much for the quick reply. I checked the link you cited. Would be grateful if you could briefly share with me any personal experience with SRI and HCCMIS as I will need to choose between these two (if not choosing dental) since they are both similarly priced. e.g. Which has the better reputation Have either had any problems with claims settlement or practice Do either offer restrictive global coverage (I know some plans regard puerto rico and USVI for example as US, while others say they are international) Are both annually renewable (I am already assuming the fact I am in florida is ok, so they must have some form of Fl state licensing) If not including dental, would you utlimately recommend HCCMIS or SRI Also any more information about your company (its difficult to tell purely from a website whether a company is a legitimate concern, as Im sure you are aware) Thanks very much. I appreciate your help. Rgds Both SRI and MNU are excellent companies, and for non US residents major medical insurance, both are resellers of the same insurance company, Lloyds. Both offer worldwide coverage and are annually renewable. Even without dental, I would recommend MNU IC Platinum because their eligibility criteria is less restricted in some cases regarding residency etc. And of course, we are legitimate and licensed insurance agents. You can read about us at /about-us/ Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:Any insurance plan for visitors that covers pre existing condition (Like BP/Diabetes) I am looking for a visitor insurance, where we can have coverage for the per existing condition. If there is any, I would like to know how much it is going to cost? I really appreciate any information regarding this. Thanks,

A:
There is no product from any company anywhere that will cover pre-existing conditions for visitors to United States. Please read /visitor-medical-insurance-pre-existing-conditions/ Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any other questions.

Q:insurance for recent immigrants I have been reading your postings at immihelp. My parents will be immigrating to the US this month. I am resigned to continuing to buy visitor insurance for them since it doesn't look like they will be covered by medicare/medicate etc, inspite of being permanent residents. What plan would you recommend ? My father is 75 with a host of pre-existing conditions, my mother is 70+ and in the same boat. Would I still be liable for a lot of the expense even after purchasing the insurance ? I am wondering if immigrating to the US is such a good idea afterall. thanks

A:
As bad as it may sound, immigrating to the USA with pre-existing conditions is not at all a good idea. I suggest you read /new-immigrants-medical-insurance-plans/ It will give very good guidance regarding the position of new immigrants regarding insurance. In short, no company will cover pre-existing conditions for them and you would be on your own if something related to pre-existing condition occurs. You may also want to read /visitor-medical-insurance-pre-existing-conditions/ that describes pre-existing conditions in very detail. Having said that, if you would like to purchase $100,000 comprehensive insurance, WorldMed would be best. It is available at /worldmed-insurance/ For $50,000, Protection America would be best, available at /patriot-america-lite-insurance/ I hope this answers your questions. Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any additional questions. Thanks for your prompt response. I will look into the links you provided, I would like to atleast buy temporary insurance till I have everything sorted out. I did hear that in CA, anyone above 65 (including recent immigrants) can make use of Medi-CAL. Is this correct, do other states have a similar program ? I have looked into Medi-CAL. It is not as simple as it sounds. Before person being eligible for any such programs, they will take your assets also into account. Most people will not qualify. Similar rules exists in other states also. When sponsoring them, you are certifying in Form I-864 that they will not be any burden on government and you will take care of them yourself.

Q:Not eligible for Medicare My spouse and me have just become permanent residents of the U.S.A. We both are just over 63 years old and not yet eligible for Medicare (Untill we live in the U.S. for 5 years and become 65 years old). We believe that PIU Bridge Plan is what we need. We still have some more questions before we decide to apply. 1. Is it possible to get only Part A coverage for the first two years and add Part B after that. 2.What will be the premium we will have to pay for "each cause deductiable of $2500 plan" (for me and my spouse). 3. Do you have an agent or broker in the San Francissco - San Hose vicinity, that we can meet and get more answers and explanations. We thank you in advance for your attention. yours

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing the bridge plan. I called your home and a lady (assume your wife) told me that you are out of the country currently. 1. Yes, you can purchase Part B later. However, you will have to requalify again at that time. 2. For both Part A and Part B. $1,054 per quarter per person or $3696 per year per person. Just for Part A, the premium is 60% of the above quoted amount. 3. You can call me, talk to me and ask me any questions that you have. Now a days, in the US, most of the work gets done remotely by phone, fax, email, internet etc. and it is not cost efficient to keep thousands of local agents all over the country. Even if you were in my town, there would be no advantage coming in person. Phone call works the best. Our office hours are from 9 AM to 10 PM - Eastern, Monday-Saturday. You can fill the application at /bridge-plan/health-insurance/ Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any additional questions. Hi. I have sponsored my parents USA immigration and they have been issued immigration status since 03/2006. My parents are aged 64 and 70 yrs and they are pretty healthy and reside with me in Colorado. My father tried looking for job, but nothing worked out. I am fully supporting them, except for health insurance needs. 1. Since I gave signed affidavit of support to INS I-864 , what are my risks if they end up with emergency health problem care and hopsital bills may run in $1000's? Will hopsital come after me and puts me at risk of bankrupcy? Under INS I-864, are there any exclusions for emergency health care need? 2. Since they have not worked in USA, can they still qualify to buy Medicaire? 3. What are my options in terms of private buying them health insurance under immigrant status, althoguth most in my state says they are not eligle for coverage? 4. ? Medicaide eligibility Any input or guidance will be appreciated. Thx Jatinder 1. Yes, you can completely liable. Read Part 8 on page 17 at https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-864-pc.pdf 2. If they are above 65, and after they have stayed in US for 5 years as green card holder, they can purhcase Medicare. That is exactly why the bridge plan exists. That is a 'bridge' between now and the time the person is eligible for Medicare. 3. Look at the products listed at /new-immigrant-insurance/ 4. Look at answer #2. Please feel free to post here or contact us at (866) INSU-BUY if you have any further questions.
