Q:I am an Irish student and I am going on an exchange to UCF (University of Central Florida) for a full academic year that is commencing in August 2019. From the information UCF sent me, they require me to take out insurance and expect the attached document to be filled out by the Insurance company. If you could let me know what policy would suffice, details of what it covers and price that would be great. I already have a local policy in Ireland with VHI and it covers me for 100,000 abroad for emergencies. Just to confirm, I do not have any pre-existing illnesses.

A:
There is a plan called Study USA Preferred 500 that will meet the requirements for UCF. You can use the link to review the plans and to generate a quote for coverage. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact our office for assistance.

Q:Hi, I am looking into buying travel insurance for my parents under the acute onset of pre-existing conditions plan. My father had an angioplasty some 5 years ago. Will any sudden heart problem during his travel be covered in the plan? Does the acute onset plan also cover sudden ailments not related to pre-existing conditions? Could you provide me a detailed brochure of coverage if possible? Please advise. Thanks

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. In order for a situation to be covered under the acute onset or pre-existing condition coverage the situation would have to meet the definition. An acute onset is defined as a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition that occurs spontaneously, without advance warning, is rapidly progressive, and requires urgent care. If there was situation which occurred which was considered a new illness, injury or accident the policies are designed to provide coverage for these conditions. Please use the link provided below to view an FAQ which answers many questions, clients have had regarding this benefit. Final determination of coverage will be made by the claims department using the attending physicians statement and medical records. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:I am interested in this plan. My fiance is a US citizen but coming to Canada for the summer. We need travel insurance for him. While he is here we will be making a couple short (7days) trips to the US. The way I am reading this plan is that it will cover him while he is driving to Canada (2 days) and while he is here in Canada and also coverage while we travel to the US for the trips we plan to take? IS this correct?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The plans will cover him anywhere outside of his home country. As he is a U.S. citizen he will not have coverage within the United States. His domestic insurance should cover him while he is in the U.S. If you have any additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.
