Q:The website asks for primary insurance holders state to start the quote. I am buying the insurance for my parents so they would be primary and they do not have a US address or credit card to buy the insurance. Can i buy it for my parents?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. If your parents are visiting the U.S. the state is asked to verify eligibility. You will need to enter in the mailing address state. Short term health insurance plans for visitors will provide coverage anywhere outside of their home country including the U.S. We can still give you a call later to discuss with you more in detail. In the meantime, if you have any additional questions please let us know.

Q:I'm an incoming graduate student to the College of Engineering at Northeastern University, Boston, MA. I want to buy a health insurance that fulfils the university requirements. My current insurance plan should: Provides access to local doctors, specialists, hospitals and other healthcare providers in emergency and non-emergency situations in the Boston area. Provides coverage for inpatient and outpatient hospitalization in the Boston area. Provides coverage for lab work, diagnostic x-rays, physical therapy and chiropractic care, emergency room treatment, ambulance services, and prescription coverage in the Boston area. Provides coverage for inpatient and outpatient mental health, substance abuse and counselling services in the Boston area. I have also attached a checklist. Please suggest some insurance plans that best fit the requirement. Looking forward to hearing from you.

A:
We have reviewed your university's requirements, and we do not have any plans that would meet them as they are requiring the coverage to be ACA compliant. The only insurance we are aware of, that would be ACA compliant, would be the domestic medical insurance offered through your university. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:my daughter will be studying at Roger Williams University (RWU) in Rhode, Island. She's a dual US/Italian citizen usually living in Rome, so we don't have ACA compatible insurance for the United States. I think the price of the policy offered by the university is too expensive so I'd like a price quote from your company. Italy guarantees reimbursement of medical costs while studying abroad, but we needs a policy for regular and emergency medical care while she's at college.

A:
We would be glad to assist. However, because your daughter has dual citizenship, and one of those citizenships is U.S., for all insurance purposes, she is considered a U.S. citizen first. Therefore, she is eligible for domestic insurance, including the domestic insurance plan offered through the university which is ACA compliant. Her being eligible for domestic, ACA compliant insurance, makes her ineligible for any other type of insurance, including the plans we offer that are not ACA compliant. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
