Q:I am a Fulbright Visiting Scholar (J-1 visa holder) to University of Central Florida from Azerbaijan Republic. I want to buy health insurance plan for my wife for the period of 1 March - 30 August 2019. And my wife is 14-week pregnant (with expected childbirth date of late July). I would like to buy insurance plan that covers pregnancy and childbirth. Can you please give me information about a plan that covers pre-existing condition of pregnancy?

A:
You would need to check with your sponsor to see if your wife would be eligible for insurance through them that covers pregnancy because there is no plan that can be purchased outside of a domestic plan that will cover her for these charges since she is already pregnant.

Q:I'm a new student at University of Central Florida and I'll start my studies during the summer on May. As advised by the UCF, I would like to apply to your insurance plan for UCF students. Knowing that I'm 20 weeks pregnant, in the fifth month of pregnancy. I would love to know your insurance coverage plan, the price (the average cost ), Insurance Policy, Deductibles, Discounts, Basis of Claims Settlement, Exclusions and the percentage amount what I'll pay for. Knowing that it will include my husband and son.

A:
You will need to check with the university to see if you are eligible for the plan they offer since there is no plan you can purchase outside of a domestic plan that will cover your current pregnancy. You could purchase a separate plan for your husband and son if you would like but we would need to know if the university has any requirements that need to be met for them.

Q:While I was filling out the online form to purchase the Patriot Exchange Program for me (J-1) and my spouse (J-2; both pending on the successful purchase of this insurance), I come across an ambiguity in the information review section. In this section, the information has indicated that my visa status is J-1/J-2, and my spouse's status is also J-1/J-2. However, right below this section, a summary stated "Are you a J2 visa holder", and the answer I chose was "No". Does this question only apply to the primary Insured person? Or does that also imply to my spouse? If there is a conflict, how do we resolve this? Please kindly clarify, and thank you in advance for handling this question.

A:
Within the application for the Patriot Exchange Program that questions is only applicable to the primary insured on the policy.

Q:Our daughter is currently in Europe and is considering applying for a German working holiday 12 month visa. She currently has travel insurance that covers her until early October. Can she purchase a 6 months policy starting October to cover her for the remaining duration of her stay? Do you know if this would be satisfactory for German embassy or would they require a single 12 month duration policy?

A:
We would be glad to assist. The Embassy will want to see that she has coverage for the full 12 months she is applying for. Because she already has coverage through October, you can just purchase an additional policy to cover the remaining time. Therefore she would present 2 visa letters showing she has coverage for the entire duration. If you have any questions, please let us know.
