Q:insurance options for green card holder 68 year old My mother is 68 y.o., she received her green card in the last months of the year 2015. Since that she traveled back to her home country and in June 8th, 2016 she returned to USA for another 9-10 months stay with us. I have been looking for an insurance plan that would be appropriate for her age group considering that she is new to the country and is not eligible for Medicare with the requirements of the minimum of 5 years of being a green card holder. She is generally a healthy woman, does not have any pre-existing conditions of any long-term illnesses, so that would not be a problem as far as covering her doctor visits or medications. What is a much bigger concern for me about my mother would be the accidents like she falls and breaks her hip /leg, arm/, or what if she had a stroke or heart attack. Please, would you suggest any possible insurance plans that would cover her large medical expenses in case of such sudden accidents? Thank you very much for your help.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Before we suggest any plan would like to know, what kind of insurance she has from jun to till now? Meantime, you can visit our new immigrant insurance section at, /new-immigrant-insurance/ Please enter appropriate criteria and play around policy max. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. I would suggest to purchase green cover if she doesn’t have any current insurance otherwise you can purchase Patriot America plus plan. Please feel free to contact our office at (866)INSUBUY and will be glad to help you. Have a great day! Thank you for your response! My mother does not have any insurance coverage now, in Jan 2016 her last policy had expired and we wanted to get her a new policy considering that she received her green card at the end of 2015. We tried to see if she could be under Obama care insurance but nothing worked for her, plus she was going to visit her home so she was back to her home country March-June 2016. Previously and today I have several times entered my mother's criteria in order to find the appropriate policy and the confusing thing to me was to see which policy would cover her in case of the big expenses due to the major injuries/hospitalization/heart attack/stroke/broken hip/. We even contacted one of the agents, my husband had talked to him, and he told me after that my mother is 68 y.o. and the only policy she should be covered for these major unfortunate accidents is Patriot America Plus, but we missed the time of purchasing it because she had arrived back to the USA more than 30 days by now, these were his words. I have tried to research for more of the options and I failed, that is why I have written you my email with the questions regarding all this. If this is true, and we missed the time of purchasing Patriot America Plus, what other policy is similar to this one with the similar good coverage? You mentioned Green Cover, what policy is this one, would you send a link, please, and do you think it will cover major medical expenses due to major injuries/hospitalization/heart attack/stroke/broken hip/? Thank you in advance, Green cover is the plan for the people who is waiting for medicare or not eligible for Obama care plan. It is possible for you to purchase a plan for a month or two while you research your options. The plan I would recommend is the Patriot America Plus plan. Q:Green card holder insurance questions We are just transferring to Plano, Texas where we bought a home recently. I am 62 years old and have 32 social security credit waiting for medicare after couple of years. In the meantime can you suggest some health plan to us. We are green card holder for last 8 years and been coming and going to USA.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Before we can recommend a plan we would need a little more information. What is your most recent arrival date to the US? What have you been doing for insurance in the past and how long will you need coverage? The majority of the new immigrant plans will cover a new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date and do not cover pre-existing conditions, preventative care and routine maintenance. The plans are not ACA compliant and you may be required to pay a tax penalty if you choose a non-compliant plan. New Immigrant plans can be found here: /new-immigrant-insurance/ Long and short term domestic plans can be found here: /short-term-health-insurance/ Long term plans are ACA compliant. If you need additional assistance please feel free to contact our office.

Q:E1 visa medical insurance needed I will move from Germany to the US with an E1 visa and need a 1 month health insurance before I get one from my employer. As soon as I leave Germany, my current insurance is invalid since I do not live there anymore. If I buy your health insurance online before entering the US, is it possible to get the contract per email and not by email address? Thank you very much.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. You will receive an email confirmation shortly after purchase which will contain access to your policy documents. The physical documentation will also be mailed to the address listed on the application, and this can take between 7 to 10 business days. Based on the information provided below we would recommend the Patriot America Plus plan. Please use the link below to review the plan details, and to purchase. You may also purchase over the phone by contacting our office at (866) INSUBUY. Patriot America Plus: /patriot-america-plus-insurance/ one more question: is indoor wall climbing in gym included in the Patriot Plus / Platinum or do I need to take the sports upgrade? How much would this be for me (age 33)? Thank you very much! You would need to add the adventure sports rider onto the plan if you will be wall climbing indoors. If you would provide the dates of coverage that you would need as well as the policy max and deductible we will be more than happy to send you figures with the sports rider added onto the plan. If you would also specify the state in which you will be needing coverage. You can also use the link below to access the application to generate a quote with the adventure sports coverage as well.
