Q:I came here on a B2 visa but my visa got expired, I married a US citizen and we are still processing my papers. I am worried I don't have health insurance and my husband can't include me in his or her doesn't have health insurance too.

A:
We do have plans that can cover you until you are eligible for domestic insurance either through your husband's employer or through the healthcare exchange. Because you have filed for adjustment of status, the plans in our new immigrant section would be the appropriate plans for you. I have attached the link to the plans below for you to review. Please be advised that once you are eligible for the domestic insurance, you would no longer be eligible for these plans. These plans cover new illness and new injuries that can occur or manifest after the effective date. They do not cover preventative care, routine maintenance, or pre-existing conditions. Q:I am looking for a medical insurance plan for my father. He is travelling from India from June 2 to Sep 24. He will be visiting UK & US. IF you have an international plan that is fine, otherwise coverage only within US is also ok. He is 76 years old and we are looking at a plan which will cover pre-existing conditions as well. Could you please help me on how to take this further.

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. We have some plan which will provide him coverage in US and UK. As long as you enter the destination United States. We provide insurance from many companies. Insurance for an international visitor provides coverage for any new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. Insurance will not pay for any routine maintenance for pre-existing or preventive care. However, We have some plan which provides coverage for an acute onset of pre-exiting conditions. Please find more information on acute onset of pre-ex here. You can purchase Safe Travels USA Comprehensive coverage plan. Please find more information on that plan here. We have sent you quote by e-mail also. He is coming in June so you have plenty of time. There might be some benefits change in future. Meantime, please visit our website. Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:I am helping my parents to get visitor insurance for their visit here in US from late April for 3-6 months. I want to make sure they can use insurance if they have medical needs. What are the good ones with decent coverage and possible minimum call dealing with insurance company when it comes to billing? How do we check if certain insurance is accepted by the medical provider. For example, if we want to go to UCSF medical center in San Francisco, which accepts all kinds of PPO and HMO network insurance, including all kinds of United HealthCare insurances. However, on Insubuy, I only found Liaison Continent and Liaison Majestic that says to be offered by United Healthcare Global PPO network. Are they the same thing? Will UCSF accpet Liaison's insurance?

A:
For the plans that use a PPO network you can click on the name of the network and then search for providers. The First Health PPO network and the United Healthcare Global are very large networks and your local hospital should be part of both. If you have additional questions after searching for the providers please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I will have a J-1 Visa for 1 year, and the position will start in June. According to the visa rules, I can enter the US 30 days before the start of my position, and can leave up to 30 days after it finishes. When getting the insurance (I only need the repatriation of remains and medical evacuation), will I need to buy it for those 2 extra months? Or is it enough to buy it for the duration of the program?

A:
Since it's a requirement from the State Department of Insurance that you have coverage then you would need coverage for the whole time you are in the US under J1 visa.

Q:I am a current Spanish resident and citizen and currently living in Spain that is looking for health insurance for my daughter and wife while they will be staying in the US for the school year 2018/2019. I am interested in the Atlas America plan. Here is my question. They will be travelling with a Greencard instead of any visa. Is there any restriction because of this situation or this insurance is only for visa holders?

A:
Because they will be traveling on Green cards, they will not be eligible for the Atlas America plan. We would recommend any of the plans here for them instead: /green-card-holders-visiting-usa-insurance/

Q:I'm trying to get a quote for a insurance plan for my parent that are planning to come to US to visit for around 4 month starting at the end of May of this year. My parents are 77 years old both, My dad has COPD disease and my mom had Alzheimer disease. What plan or options can the company recommend?.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, there is no insurance for an international visitor which covers routine maintenance for the pre-existing conditions. You have to pay from your pocket. However, insurance will cover for an acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Please find more details here We would be happy to recommend a plan for coverage. Please confirm the state that they would require coverage in as well as the dates we would be happy to send you a quote. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further clarification.
