Q:I am planning to purchase an air ticket to Australia for late September 2019. I am a citizen of Pakistan, but live in The Netherlands. The planned itinerary is Amsterdam to Brisbane. However, my visa decision to Australia is awaited. I am hoping the visa grant soon. In case, that not happens before my proposed departure, I do not want my ticket to be wasted. Therefore, I am interested in buying a ticket cancellation insurance from INSUBUY.

A:
While you are eligible to purchase a trip insurance the plans for a non US resident will not cover if the visa is denied. You can find the trip insurance plans here if you would like more information: Trip Insurance

Q:Hello, I will be a J1 visiting scholar in University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between July 22 2019 and July 31 2020. I was looking for a health insurance for myself and my two dependents. Looking at your website, I found that your Exchange Guard Plan with 0 deductible meets the J1 visa health insurance requirements. However I have few questions that need to be answered quickly since I will be departing to the US on coming Sunday. 1. Does your ExchangeGuard Choice and Patriot Exchange Plans have the same coverage in terms of outstanding restrictions? Although myself and my dependents do not have any mentioned restriction conditions explained n Exchange Guard Choice plan, I want to be clear on this because as far as I see Patriot Exchange plan does not have a list of restrictions. 2. Do you have a plan that does not have restrictions and does not have waiting period? 3. If I have an injury related to a broken bone or a cut and have 0 deductible plan and 100/0 co-insurance pay, do I have to pay anything to the hospital? 4. During my stay period, if I have an inner ear infection or a stomach ache and have to visit doctor's office, do you require medical history report before paying the claim? If yes, where can I find the forms to be filled for the report? 5. If I purchase the plan for a year at the beginning and they cancel it 30 days later, do I incur any penalty fees or do I get full refund back for the remaining insurance period?

A:
1. Please look at the difference between ExchangeGuard and Patriot Exchange plan: /patriot-exchange-program-vs-exchangeguard-insurance/ Please look at certificate wording for more information: ExchangeGuard: /exchangeguard/student-medical-insurance.pdf Patriot Exchange: /patriot-exchange-program/certificate-wording/student-medical-insurance.pdf For details on exclusion. This outstanding restriction link is just the major overview of exclusion. 2. No. For that you need to purchase insurance from your school. 3. If you go in the network plan will pay 100%. For Dr. visit you may need to pay upfront but hospitalization or major expense you don't need to pay from your pocket. 4. Yes. Usually attending physician will ask some questions and send medical notes to claim dept. and based on attending physician statement will be determined whether claim dept. needs additional medical records or not. If you don't have you can say I don't have. Please look at claim overview at: /international-health-insurance-claims/ 5. Refund policy for Patirot Exchange: /cancellation/patriot-exchange-program-insurance/ 6. Refund policy for ExchangeGuard: /cancellation/exchangeguard-insurance/

Q:J1 is visiting scholar in Stanford University. Is there any insurance suitable for me(J2)?

A:
You can run quotes for our J1/J2 plans here: /j1-visa-health-insurance/ Once you enter in your information, it will show you the available plans for a J2 alone without the J1 being on the plan since it appears the J1 already has coverage possibly through Stanford. If you are only required to carry a plan that meets the standard J1/J2 requirements, any of the plans in this section will meet them.

Q:I'm an exchange student from Austria going to Tulane in August and I'm currently looking for health insurance that fulfills the criteria for Tulane University's T-SHIP waiver (https://campushealth.tulane.edu/insurance-billing/university-standards-adequate-insurance). Is there any plan you offer that fulfills these criteria?

A:
Unfortunately, there are no plans available to meet the requirements provided as you require a plan which covers pre-existing conditions without a waiting period. We would recommend purchasing from your University directly.

Q:I am an international student who will be enrolled in August and looking for a health insurance. One of my school seniors recommended your company to me, and I want to purchase insurance from your company. But I'm not sure whether and which your insurance plan meets our school's needs. So I am writing this email to consult you about this matter. And according to the documents I received, my insurance plan must meet the following required benefits and coverage. 1. Unlimited Maximum Benefit for Covered medical expenses. 2. Coverage for essential benefits as defined under Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act - including pharmacy, mental health, maternity, preventive care, contraception - with no dollar limits. 3. Pediatric dental and vision coverage as defined by ACA. 4. A policy year deductible of $500 or less. Maximum total out of pocket expense cannot exceed $6,350 per member, $12,700 per family with preferred providers. Deductible, coinsurance, and any copays count toward out-of-pocket maximum. 5. A minimum of $25,000 for repatriation and $50,000 for medical evacuation. 6. A minimum of 80% coinsurance payable by the insurance plan to network providers. Emergency/urgent care coverage only is not accepted for waiver 7. Verifiable proof of coverage with student's name (ID card, insurance policy or letter from insurance carrier - copy provided) 8. Effective dates covering the entire period for which I am requesting a waiver 9. Plan document(s) in English, with currency amounts converted to U.S. dollars, and an insurance company contact phone # in the U.S. 10. The insurer has a base of operations in the US or has a US based claims payer.
