Q: I'm an international student who is following Ph.D. in Photo chemical Sciences at Bowling Green State University. I'm married and my wife is also following the same program. I'm 34 years old and my wife is 32 years old. We are currently enrolled in Aetna health insurance. Which cost more than 2000 USD per year per person per year. Do you have any cheaper similar plans? I hope you can help in this regard. Below is the university requirement

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Unfortunately, your university requires you to purchase an ACA (Affordable Care Act) plan so you will have to keep the Aetna plan to be able to meet their requirements. Plans available on the market are not ACA compliant for international students. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I'm from Egypt and I'm starting university in USA next month. What are the best plan I can get. I thin my school's only requirement is "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" compliant.

A:
We would be glad to assist. However, the only ACA compliant insurance you will find being an F1 visa holder, would be the insurance being offered through the school itself. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

Q:My son will be in Mississippi Mon 30th July. I need to take a medical insurance so he is covered while he studies at Grace Baptist Academy, in Ocean Springs. I am in Australia and he will be overseas in the US. I have seen your Standard plan. Can you please specify what I can do to get the insurance. I got stuck when the application is asking for student - as he is high school student with F1 visa. but the form shows undergraduate can I select that. And the query was about billing address as we are residing in Australia and my son will be under the guidance of the school. I was going with the Standard Plan says about $460 comprehensive cover, health and school sports etc I need to do this at the earliest. please reply.

A:
Were you trying to purchase Study USA standard plan? Study USA plan you can't purchase if he is located in Australia at the time of application. Student health advantage Standard or Platinum plan asks only visa type. His visa type is F1. Billing address and residence address you can enter Australia address. For mailing address you can give his US address. You can purchase either Patriot Exchange, Student Health Advantage Standard or Platinum plan. Please compare those plans at international student insurance section. Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans but he will be eligible to purchase patriot Exchange plan, student Health advantage standard or platinum plan. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.
