Q:Hi, I am an international graduate student at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. I am looking to get an affordable health insurance plan covering from August 01, 2019 to December 31, 2019. Here is my university requirement for health insurance: Insurance Requirements: - Provides the Essential Minimum Benefits required by the PPACA with no annual limits. - Contains no exclusions for pre-existing conditions. - Covers 100% of Preventive Care as defined by the PPACA. - imposes a deductible that does not exceed $500 per year (this includes employer plans). - imposes no provisions for co-insurance that exceed 25% of the covered benefits per accident or illness. - Is underwritten by an insurance carrier that meets the requirement of 22 CFR 62.14(d)(1) or offered or underwritten by a federally qualified HMO or competitive Medical Plan as determined by the US Department of Health and Human Services. - Proof of Repatriation expenses in the amount of no less than $25,000. - Proof of expenses associated with the medical evacuation of the insured to the insured's home country of no less than $50,000. - Travel Plans will not be accepted - The insurance coverage must be in effect on or before 1/1/2019

A:
Unfortunately, there are no plans available which will meet your requirements as you require an Affordable Care Act Compliant plan. We would recommend purchasing from your University directly.

Q:I'm exploring the feasibility for my mother to visit California from India, but she undergoes dialysis twice a week in India. Do you have any visitor insurance options that would cover dialysis? If yes, what would the deductible be?

A:
Visitors insurance plans are not meant to cover routine treatment that is expected. Therefore, dialysis would not be covered in any of the plans. You can look at the available plans below: Visitors To The U.S.

Q:I will go to the US in August 2019 to study at the UCF for approximately one year. Therefore I'am looking for an insurance which covers all requested requirements. Can you please give me an info if you cover these requirements (see attached file) and about the costs?

A:
The plan we recommend is the Study USA 500 plan. For the cost of the plan you would click on Quotes & Purchase or if you would like us to provide a quote we would need more information. You would need to provide the dates you need coverage, your age, country of citizenship, and visa status.

Q:I am a international student from India in the US going to Univ. of California, Berkeley. My university have a list of criteria which needs to be met for insurance purposes. I need to confirm that before I buy my health insurance from insubuy.

A:
We were able to confirm the required benefits for the waiver, and we would not offer any plans that meet them. The only coverage we are aware of that you would be eligible for that would meet them, would be the coverage offered by the university. This is the link to the UC Berkley's medical insurance requirements we were able to locate on the university's website: https://uhs.berkeley.edu/insurance/waiving-ship/ship-waiver-requirements We do have a stand-alone, Medical Evacuation and Repatriation plan if that is not included with the university's plan.

Q:I am an Italian pregnant woman. I have lived one year in Houston studying there. Now I frequently travel from Italy to Houston for my job and also to visit my Houstonian family. I should be in Houston one week on June and the delivery is scheduled from the end of July. I would like to have some information in case I have a premature birth and I would like to know which kind of insurance I can do for the delivery. Thank you

A:
If you are coming to the U.S. on a B1/B2 visitor visa, while there are medical plans available to visitors, there are no plans on the market that will cover pregnancy. We do have an Atlas America plan that can cover complications of pregnancy up to 26 weeks, you will be past that point of your pregnancy at your time of your travel. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
