Q:just received the email that my claim is denied but no information etc. what do I do? This is crazy.

A:
You should be receiving an EOB (Explanation of Benefits) from the claims department stating the reason the claim was denied. If you are referring to a medical bill, it should also have some indication on the statement below the charges that states why the insurance company denied the claim. There would be a reason code along with the description of denial, for example, preventative care, or pre-existing condition. However, if you are not seeing that information, or have not yet received the EOB, you can contact the claims department directly at 1-800-628-4664 for updates or status of a claim. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:Hi there, I am planning to visit USA to stay with my son in Minneapolis for 3 - 4 months from 15 oct 2022. I am aged 60 years and my wife 55 years. Both of us are type 2 diabetes with medication. We carry medicines from India for the same. What are the benefits if we opt for PED additionally. Also, I have chosen 0 deductible and it shows urgent care co-pay as 35. Does this mean I have to pay 35 for each doctor visit even in 0 deductible ?

A:
We do have 1 plan that can provide coverage for pre-existing conditions. /visitors-protect-insurance/ The plan you are looking at is the Safe Travels Comprehensive plan that provides a benefit for acute onset of pre-existing conditions. I have attached the information regarding acute onset benefits below for you to review. /visitor-insurance-acute-onset-of-pre-existing-conditions/ I am not sure what you are referring to, "PED". Visitors insurance will generally pay for any new medical conditions, injuries or accident that did not exist before the effective date of the policy. The Visitors Protect plan above that provides coverage for pre-existing conditions does have it's own benefit maximum and a $1500 deductible. It also must be purchased before departure from home country when traveling to the U.S. Yes, in regards to the Safe Travels USA Comprehensive plan, if you go to an Urgent care for treatment of a covered expense under the plan, the deductible would be waived for the appointment itself and you would have a $35.00 copay. Be advised that direct billing is up to the provider. Therefore, a provider could have you pay up front and then you would need to file a claim for reimbursement. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:Where is my pharmacy card? That covers me for insurance

A:
You can obtain your prescription discount card through My Account on the Insubuy website. You will pay up front for medications at the pharmacy and can use the discount card at that time. Then as long as the medication is for a covered expense under the plan, you would then file for reimbursement. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.

Q:Hello,I have VisitorSecure insurance taken for mother in law (WorldTips). How do I check if a specific doctor or an institution accepts it?Thanks

A:
You have a Fixed Coverage plan policy that does not have a PPO network. Therefore, you can go to any provider. They will either direct bill the insurance company, or have you pay for services up front and you would file a claim for reimbursement. That will be up to the individual providers office. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
