Q:I and my wife are currently in the US under J1 and J2 visas. My wife is currently pregnant and is expected to deliver in the end-March 2020. Currently, we are covered by my educational provider AETNA Student Health insurance, however it is expected to expire soon. My educational part of the program has ended as well, so we are looking for new insurance that will cover most of the pre-existing pregnancy's maternity care and delivery costs in the state of NY, where are we be located since Jan 2020. Do you have any products which will suit us?

A:
Please be advised that there is no plan other a domestic insurance plan that would cover the pre-existing pregnancy for a J1/J2 visa holder. My recommendation to you and your wife would to contact the state department of insurance in the state of New York to see if there is a possibility of finding a suitable plan to cover you.
