Q:My travel date is from 08/31/2019-09/08/2019. In case I don't get my visa approved by my travel date and I have to change my travel dates, can I change the insurance coverage date without extra charges?

A:
The premium is calculated on a daily basis, if you changed the dates and increased the number of days of the policy, then you would have to pay the premium for the additional days. There are no additional charges for make an adjustment to the policy.

Q:My wife and I are planning to visit Switzerland for tourism and would like to see if you provide health insurance with following requirements given by the Lithuanian Consulate that I visited in USA to get the Schengen visa: Coverage of at least 30.000 EUR (Euros) (around USD 50,000) for each of the following items:: Emergency medical expenses; Emergency hospital treatment; Repatriation for medical reasons; Repatriation of mortal remains. NO DEDUCTIBLE (zero) The letter that you will provide must specify each item above with at least 30000 EUR coverage. It should also specify there is no DEDUCTIBLE. Please let me know if you have the insurance coverage I need for the Schengen Visa.

A:
If you are needing insurance that meets the Schengen Visa requirements, any of the plans in our Schengen section would give you those coverage levels for requirements. You can obtain quotes for those plans here: Schengen Visa Insurance Any of the plans in this section would be sufficient. You would need the name as it appears in the passport, passport number and date of birth to complete an application.

Q:I am a final year medical student in Verona, Italy. From the end of November until the end of January I'll spend 8 weeks in a Miami hospital for two periods of clinical rotation, and I'm currently looking for a Healthcare plan for international visitors that can cover me well during my staying (around 75-80 days). I've read that you are a very good broker, with a solid experience and background of providing help to people that had even bad claims with insurance companies. Of course they try to make the claim process long and often rejected for silly reasons, and still you were able to achieve success in such situations thanks also to your great founder. So it would be a pleasure to purchase the coverage on your website and in the remote case of medical issues, know that you'll be there for me. I am 25 and in very good health conditions. The only thing of some concern in my medical history is a testicular subtorsion that I had more than a year ago, for which I was operated in urgency with a bilateral orchidopexy. From time to time it gives a bit of discomfort/pain, but nothing that has ever required more than an ant inflammatory pill. So my only concern for my trip, apart from unforeseen pathologies I might get during my medical practice in the ER of Hialeah Hospital, is a possible bad reacutization of testicular pain that could require to be seen by a urologist with urgency. So far I've checked the possible solutions and I'd prefer a comprehensive plan, with a maximum of 100.000-500.000 $, a deductible of 100-250 $ and a good PPO network. Of course the main feature should be a high chance that my insurance company gets directly billed by the hospital, since being charged on my credit card and then being forced to struggle with the company to get thousands of dollars back could be over the limits of my financial capabilities and I would be risking my testes. Therefore, I prefer spending 100-200 $ more on my insurance now and get a good one that can cover my needs effectively and with the least anxiety. Possibly the best one. For example, I've seen that there are Atlas America, Patriot Plus , Liaison Travel Elite and Safe Travels USA Comprehensive. Which are your suggestions for me among these four? From your experience, which of them has the highest chance of being directly billed in the Miami area (main hospitals I could go to for possible urologic emergency is Palmetto General Hospital, Mount Sinai, Jackson Memorial)

A:
Thank you for your interest in purchasing insurance through us. Insurance for an international visitors covers for any new sickness, injuries or accidents that may occur after the effective date of the policy. It will not pay for dr. visit for the existing conditions. However, plan provides coverage for an acute onset of pre-existing conditions. It will be determined only by the claim dept. based on the attending physician notes and as per the policy certificate whether it falls under acute onset of pre-existing conditions or not. You may view plans and get quotes here. Please enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans, you can narrow by plan with an acute onset of pre-existing conditions. Please review the certificate wording and feel free to contact us if you have any further questions.

Q:I am looking for insurance coverage for my dad who is travelling to both Canada (6 weeks) and USA (12 weeks). I am not sure what option to choose on your website to find one that would serve both countries. Do I need to buy one separately for each country? Also, he has pre-existing condition and I would like more clarification on how something is determined to be a pre-existing condition related. He has Parkinson's. If he falls down due to balance issues, will that be considered an onset of his pre-existing condition or is it treated separately. Do you have any insurance that can help with travel costs if he needs to go back to India for treatment?

A:
When selecting a plan option you may select the coverage area option of "International including USA" to see the plan options which will provide coverage in multiple countries. As a whole the plans are designed provide coverage anywhere outside of the home country. Pre-existing conditions are any condition which were to manifest prior to the effective date of the policy whether known or unknown. The plans will provide coverage for an acute onset of a pre-existing condition. An acute onset of a pre-existing condition is a sudden and unexpected outbreak or recurrence of a pre-existing condition that occurs spontaneously, without advance warning, is rapidly progressive, and requires urgent care. You may learn more about this benefit along with a few examples in our FAQ. As far as the travel cost, there are no plans available that will assist with the travel cost if the insured decide to return home for medical treatment. There are benefits for emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, but these are designed to help someone travel to the nearest adequate medical facility to obtain medical treatment in the event something happens. If you have any additional questions, please let us know.
