Q:I'm looking for an insurance package for my friend within his 03 weeks staying in US. Please help to explain more about the claiming policy. As I understand that if an emergency occurs, we have to self-pay first then contact you for later repayment, right? What if my friend leaves the country while the claiming procedure is still processing, can he authorize someone else to do the paperwork and have the money refunded to their account?

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. The claims process will depend on the plan you purchase. Some plans, since they do not have a PPO network, may have to be paid out of pocket and then filed for reimbursement but there are plans that do have a network and in some cases the provider will bill directly. Please feel free to contact our office to speak with a licensed agent for more assistance.

Q:I want to buy insurance for my mother: UK National & resident 75 years old Currently in the USA (since November 2016) with UK-based travel insurance Current travel insurance expires Feb 15, 2017 (94 day max for this plan) Would like to extend her stay until May 15, 2017 She has: Coronary heart disease Stent fitted 2010. Heart defibrillator fitted March 2016 (during same hospital stay where cancer, below, was diagnosed). No heart issues or problems with dizziness, shortness of breath or similar. Pancreatic cancer (Diagnosed February 2016. She has not had any chemo or radiation. Alternative therapy treatments only. Tumor has shrunk by 50%, tumor markers reduced by 60%. Currently requires no pain medication, only herbal supplements, Vitamin C., strict diet etc). Please advise what coverage / limits / exclusions you are able to provide. I want to confirm that these pre-existing conditions are covered should, for example, she have a heart attack and require emergency hospital treatment.

A:
Thank you for contacting us for your insurance needs. The plans will cover any new illness or injury that occurs after the effective date of the policy. There are no plans on the market that will cover Pre-existing Conditions for visitors to the US. If treatment is required for a pre-existing condition then that would be paid for out of pocket. There is one plan that will include the Acute Onset benefit for insureds over 70 called Safe Travels USA Comprehensive. While this plan does offer the Acute onset benefit it has an exclusion for heart conditions or disease.

Q: We are two international students, spending a semester at Virginia Tech and we have an insurance plan from our country. We have just found out that we are missing two requirements that are mandatory for our university. We wanted to ask whether it is possible to make a insurance plan with you that covers only the two requirements that we are missing. I attached the form where you can find the requirements we are missing that our insurance filled up with "NO" ("pregnancy coverage" and "no internal caps coverage"). The main issue is that we need this coverage by the 26th of January. We are looking forward to hearing from you

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. There are no plans available which will meet your University's requirements. We would recommend purchasing from your University. If you have any additional questions please let us know.
