Q:protection america for parents I would like to buy insurance for my parents (Ages:63 and 54) who will be here for about 5 months and have some questions regarding the policy. I am interested in buying the Protection America policy with a policy maximum of $50,000. Is the policy maximum for one person? i.e. $50,000/person. Please let me know.

A:
Everything is per person. $50,000 is per person. Deductible you select is per person, premiums are per person as well. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Before we go to the hospital, do we need pre-approval from the Insurance company? Please let me know. For simple things like Dr. visit etc, you don't have to do any pre-certification. However, for major things like hospitalization, surgery, CTScan/MRI, major treatment etc, you will have to call the phone number on the health insurance card and let them know. That is what pre-certification all about. It is not very complicated. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Q:rate for age category I'm 29, I want to be a visitor J1 (Puerto Rico Universtity) so I'm interested in purchasing a policy for 5 months plan A within the period november 2005 to March 2006. I'm planning to buy it this month, but Im not sure because I'm 29 but in 17 February 2006 I will be 30 years. What rate should I have to pay? Is it possible pay for the rate (19-29 years) because it's my age at this moment purchase?

A:
You have to apply according to age 29. Are those policies accepted in Puerto Rico at Mayaguez? You are NOT eligible for Visit USA-Healthcare plan as that covers only within USA. To be covered in Puerto Rico, you have to purchase InterMedical (Plan B), available at /intermedical-insurance/ In that plan, you can go to any hospital. There is no restriction.
