Q:We are interested in the Sate Travels USA Comprehensive policy $255.00 I would just like to clarify that I am understanding this wording correctly before we purchase this cover. 1. My mom (84 at the time of travel) will be cover from the minute she leaves her home country South Africa travels to the USA and Canada and until she returns back to her home country ? 2. As per my earlier mail I confirmed that my mother does take medication for Hypertension and is a type 2 diabetic. These two conditions are fully under control. Does the wording "Acute onset of a Pre-existing condition" mean that should she suffer a sudden heart she will be cover up to $15000.00 or should she have a sugar attack she will be cover up to $15000.00. |So basically you will only be cover for one of your two conditions should they occur. Hopefully one goes on a holiday and nothing happens but at this age one must take all the necessary steps to ensure that all is in order just in case. Please can you confirm if I am understanding this correctly.

A:
To answer your questions: 1. Yes, she will be covered from the time she leaves her home country to the time she returns. 2. The Acute onset benefit is $25,000 for her age unless the acute onset is related to cardiac disease or condition then the benefit is reduced to $15,000. To be covered under the Acute onset benefit the situation has to meet the definition of an acute onset based on the certificate wording. If you have additional questions please feel free to contact our office.

Q:I'm English and moved to NY about 8 years ago, my mom would like to come for a visit to see me and her grandchildren. The trouble is, she has a number of pre-existing conditions and is on a few medications, one of which is a prescribed controlled substance. Do you have a sales department that could reach out to me to get a quote for travel insurance for her? We would want her covered in the event of anything happening at all, and maybe the ability to refill a prescription should she not have enough when she is over. She is 57 and a UK citizen. Her planned trip is May of 2018 for 4-6 weeks, depending on how much of her medicine she can bring with her, or if she can refill a script here. If you don't have a sales department that would produce a quote for me, do you have any ideas of who I would contact next? I want to try and have some news to her on budgets and such as soon as we can so we can save and plan accordingly.

A:

However, we have many plans which provides coverage for an Acute Onset of Pre-existing Conditions. Please go to the link to find more information on acute onset of pre-ex. If you provide her travel date and what policy maximum are you looking for will be glad to send you quote by e-mail. Meantime, please visit our website and enter appropriate criteria. You will find many plans and you can also compare them side by side. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further clarification.
