Q:Hi I am an shopping about for medical insurance - I am due to come to the US in January 2021 for a Golf Scholarship, I think I have a quote for the ExchangeGuard Choice but it is a bit of a minefield. My College has sports insurance in place but want to confirm the option/amount for the benefit for sports injuries Not sure if I should be asking other questions but would appreciate any other advice/help in this matter.

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy. The Exchange Guard plan will not provide any coverage for intercollegiate / interscholastic sports. You can review Student Secure (elite or standard option) or Study USA Platinum for coverage for sports. If you have any additional questions please contact our office.

Q:Hello, I had taken an Insurance Policy for my mother which I had to extend from time to time as she had to stay back in the US because of the pandemic. Her Insurance now expires on Jan 18th. I have now applied for her Green Card and would like to know what Insurance Plans you can offer for her continued stay in the US. She has not made any claim of insurance on the policy as of date. Please advise at the earliest as I am seeking medical quotes from other insurance providers. She will be Georgia Based and would like to have a comprehensive low cost coverage.

A:
You may continue the coverage under her current plan up to an end date of 01/17/2022. She will be eligible for this plan until she becomes eligible for a domestic plan. Once she is eligible for a domestic plan she would need to purchase that option and cancel this insurance. Should you have additional questions please call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:Is the vaccination covered in visitors' insurance? I have Atlas America insurance card

A:
Thank you for contacting Insubuy for your insurance needs. Although there are numerous plans that include the coverage for COVID-19 in case it were to manifest in the body after the effective date, they still exclude the pre-existing conditions, preventative and routine care. Immunization and vaccination would be excluded from all the visitor plans on the market. Therefore, you would have to pay from you pocket for expenses related to the COVID-19 vaccine. Should you have additional questions or need further assistance please call our office at +1 (866) 467-8289.

Q:Does this pay for private travel back in the event of a positive covid test?

A:
The plans that include the coverage for COVID-19 are designed to allow medical coverage for it in the case it were to manifest in the body after the effective date. There is not a plan available that will cover the cost related to a private flight back due to a positive result. Should you have additional questions please call our office at +! (866) 467-8289.
